depends on how deep... if its superficial... clean it well and apply antibiotic ointment... keep it clean and watch for flys.. I would recommend keeping it inside so you don't get maggots.... I have had to pick out maggots from open wounds on dogs and its so sad.. if its really bad then go to your vet it may need sutures and antibiotics....good luck..smile

Open would as in a scratch or a cut, then clean it and put some polysporin on it. If it's a puncture or something worse than a cut, or something that might need a stitch or something that might need to be drained ... then you should see a vet. In this warm weather, flies and other bugs would have a hayday with an open wound on a dog's ear.. You can see it, does it seem like something a vet should take care of ?
Clean it with ispropyl alcohol rather than peroxide. Peroxide disinfects better but doesn't promote healing, the alcohol disinfects but promotes healing. You want this healed up fairly quickly.

Depending on how bad it is.... if it's not bad enough to need a vet, you can put Corona ointment on it. You can get it at feed stores or I think walmart may carry it now.

It depends on how bad it is?

I would just take her to the Vet.If you put any antibiotic cream on she will rub it off her head. She may need internal antibiotics...pill form.
