I really don't know. I guess that they are just so insecure with their masculinity. They must feel that they need to get in touch with their feminine side. I guess they like the fact that we can do more things with our hair. That and they must think that they look cool or something or that it is good for their rep or something because guys always butt head to head to try and be like the "alpha-dog" you know? They feel that they have to keep a certain image around the other guys or something. It is weird. I hope that I helped you. And look at other people's views, see what they think. Maybe ask a guy. But as, my opinion goes, it is really that they feel emasculated, or that they have to keep some stupid rep.

We hippies are always gettng asked the question, why the long hair? Has our society just completely been beaten to the ground?? What is it that makes long hair only acceptable for women? I'll have you know that some of the fems I associate my self with have shorter hair than I do. And you know what, THEY DIG IT BABY!!! So the next time anyone asks, why the long hair (this goes to my hippie bretren) just give them your opinion on the issue, and if you should bump heads, just whip them with the mophead. BOOYAH!!!!!!!

I would say because of style and confidence. Do you know Kitaro? As in the musician? He's got long hair and the main reason is, it gives confidence.That's what he said in an interview. Different guys think differently, but having hair and of different lengths really affect our personalities and the way we carry ourselves. What do you think?

They think it's manly, like Rambo, etc...or they like the Founding Fathers look, or they are saving money on haircuts....or they simply are lazy. I grew mine out so that I would NOT resemble my dad, the crazy nasyu man he was.

it all started with the british invasion, friend. myself now, i never had long hair. you never saw too much of it, until the beatles came over here, i guess they want to look like women.
