You don't really need to "take" anything. Do 30 minutes of cardio followed by 20 or 30 minutes of strength straining, then 5 to 10 minutes of stretching exercises every other day. On the days in between, do 40 minutes of cardio and 5 to 10 minutes of stretching.
If you accompany this with a healthy diet including lots of fruit, veggies, and whole grains and about 3 -4 ounces of meat and a little low fat dairy every day, plus lots of water, you will be very satisfied with the results and proud to say you did it yourself!

There is a specific order.
1. When you wake up in the morning, drink 8 -16 oz of water.
2. Then go on a 45 min jog, 4 x a week.
3. Then have a clean breakfast with 1/2 c of steel cut oatmeal, and one or two soft boiled eggs. And a 1/2 c of pulp O.J.
4. About 2 - 3 hours later, have the protein shake.
5. Have a small lunch, 3 - 4 oz fish or chicken, and salad/veggies
6. About 2:00, have a small snack, low fat cheese & apple
7. 3 times a week, lift weights - intense & slowly for 45 min.
8. Have a protein shake with 1/2c of O.J (carb re-load)
9. small snack a few hours before bed
research this method of 6 small meals a day, and you can eliminate the hydroxycut... And don't increase calories !

All exercise both builds muscle AND burns fat. Steroids just upset your hormonal balance and make you crazy. Like another user said, you can choose which is most important to you; building muscle or burning fat. But my physical trainers in law enforcement recommend doing both at the same time for an insane workout. For example, if you do sets of push-ups between sets of weightlifting, you are getting even more muscular workout than just the weights alone, and your heart-rate will stay as high as any so-called "cardio" activity (like jogging). Also, I think you are confused about the term "burn muscle". All exercise "burns" muscle. It replaces old muscle tissue with newer, better, bigger, stronger muscle tissue. The bigger the weights and the more cardio you do, the more muscle you "burn"..and the more your muscles will grow. "Burning" muscle does not mean you are losing it. It means you are pushing it to the limit to get more of it.

What is your overall goal? What do you want to accomplish?
If you haven't started any type of workout regimen, that could be too much for the body.
Personally I started off the first few months like this: changing my eating habits, then I added in cardio. Weightlifting came in a little later.
I try to burn more calories than I consume.
My suggestion would be to slowly added in those things you want.
I'm down about 40 pounds, so I might add in hydroxycut or something like that to get the last 20 off.

if you have enough fat you wont need protein shakes or any other suplements. do weight excersizes. (low rep, high weight) and do some cardio for the weightloss.
make sure you keep your diet in such a way that you remain in mitosis.
