Islam is not about terrorism; some followers are misled and blinded by clerics who themselves are blinded by the power they have over such people.
It is a religion which teaches tolerance, peace, brotherhood and modesty.

Islam is not about terrorism it is about serving God. However, there is something wrong with Islam in that leads many of its followers to go crazy mad. Remember how the Islamic world went absolutely insane over some stupid drawings of Mohammed? Just the rumor that an American soldier stepped on a Koran was enough for many young Muslims to join the side of the terrorists.
Non-Muslims must be careful not to disturb the feelings of a Muslim or they will cry Allah Akbar and cut off your head..
Yes, there is a very ugly face of Islam and someday there will be war where the good Muslims will have to take arms against the evil Muslims to see who will decide the direction of Islam for the next century.

I've been reading about this issue and it appears to me that the answer is not a simple yes or no.
Obviously Islam would have no credibility if it was all about terrorism. There is a lot in the religion about morality. (Mind you, it seems to me that Islam inherited what good values it has from Christianity and Judaism.)
However, the goal of the religion is to convert the entire world to Islam and establish Islamic law everywhere. That's not so bad in itself if it were not for the fact that appears to encourage violence as a means of achieving that goal: e.g., "seize them and kill them wherever you find them" [4:89].
Whether individual terrorist acts are in accordance with Islam or not I can't say (even the Muslims themselves are divided). However, the problem is that because the religion condones violence, people will use it to justify terrible deeds. This is evidenced throughout history, from their early history right up to events in modern times.
If I am wrong, I would like to be corrected. However, that is my understanding from what I have read so far.

Like anything in life, if only the good ones would only stop colluding and stand up for the 'supposed' righteous beliefs of the Islam religion then all would be cool. All due respect but the muslims have given themselves a very bad name! And, no, that isn't one about peace.
Get with modern times and quit the patriachry and things will improve 10 fold. Ie husbandship is not all about serving the boys and men ... they actually do need to be put in there place every now and then as we all do! = we are ALL human!
PS: Stop making all the terror crap ok and stand up for the betterment of yr religion, even if others do not agree, so what.. not everyone agrees with Hillsong!!!

Certainly islam is not about terrorism. However, islam permits the use of terrorism to establish religious islamic hegemony upon the world. Islam can be summarised to a passage in the Quran,
8:39 And fight them until there is no more Fitnah (disbelief and polytheism: i.e. worshipping others besides Allâh) and the religion (worship) will all be for Allâh Alone [in the whole of the world[]]. But if they cease (worshipping others besides Allâh), then certainly, Allâh is All-Seer of what they do.[]

True Islam is essentially Christianity on steroids. It's the continuation and expansion of the principles of faith to God as held by the Bible and expanded upon by subsequent prophets. The Jews continued their faith through constant discussion and "commentary" to re-interpret the original teachings. The Catholics continued their faith through the heirarchy of the Holy Roman Church, with other Christians later breaking away from the Church and continuing to interpret and preach the gospel of the original teachings. And Moslems embraced additional prophets with expanded and refined messages of faith and devotion to God.
Unfortunately, the Q'oran was also subject to multiple translations, and like all translations (the JudeoChristian texts as well) was subject to political manipulation. That led to a particular translation that was meant to inspire a Moslem response to the Crusades, and it's THAT particular translation that runs severely contrary to the actual principles of Islam and is misused to support terroristic beliefs.
God is powerful and sometimes necessarily cruel, but God would never condone, support, or reward terrorism, fear and hatred. Those fall into the favored tactics of the anti-God, Satan, who misleads these people for his own selfish goals.
People do need to know the truth about Islam. But unfortunately the greatest need for this education is within the Moslem community itself.

i am white british, 1 january 2007 i converted to islam, but islam says you only revert back because everyone was born a muslim. anyway thats that!
as a muslim, i am quite laid back, i pray, i wear hijab, i wear normal clothes as long as they cover my bum and thy's, and my legs are covered, i fast, i obey my husband and i try to be good. the reason i turned muslim was what? i was going through a bad patch in my marriage and started reading womens rights, the husbands role etc and i turned muslim coz i thought if i was muslim then my hubby already a muslim would have to carry out his proper duty towards me and now ive never been happier al'hamduallah. there were other reasons to but this was the main one. i love islam but one thing i dont love is saddam hussain, terrorism, bombers, etc. in islam this is wrong and muslim people who do these things are haram and will be punished on the day of judgment, in the Qu'aran it says by almeans fight for your country. meaning a war. these people are just crazy.

The sad truth is, Muslims believe this town ain't big enough for the two of us, and want SHARIA LAW IN OUR COUNTRY.
Any Muslim who says otherwise is 'deceiving non believers / infidels' as this is also stated in their holy book... The Koran, teaches that it’s OK to lie to infidels if it furthers the cause of Islam.
Don't be a fool, peace can ALSO mean death.
Islam could be great if everyone believed in the same thing, BUT PEOPLE DON'T, and you CANNOT FORCE THEM TO, that is the beauty of FREEDOM.
An underlying FACT about Islam is that it is a paranoid religion which believes people are trying to wipe it out, this is why they want to cause destruction in our civilized societies and cities.
Believe in the only true books... SCIENCE BOOKS.

I am sick to the back teeth of all the stupid ignorant people who keep chanting that Islam is a religion of peace!!!!!!!!!!!!
and proclaim that the Muslims who commit the bombings and murders are not Muslims after all. As well as killing and maiming innocent women and children the Sunis are killing the shites ( or is that Shiites ) and the shites are killing the druze etc etc etc and while this goes on the silent majority of Muslims do & say nothing other than what a loving peaceful religion the belive in....total & utter shite.
