From this quote, what do you think?
"Dear husbands, your wife is your partner, your other half and your life mate. She can be your hassanah in this world and "the blessing of your life," but only if you give her the chance to be. She is the one who can bring a smile to your face and dry the tears of pain from your eyes. She has the potential to provide your family with iman, happiness, encouragement, and patience in the face of challenges you may face. Your wife is always ready to sacrifice everything in order to bring happiness and success to the family."

Abu Bakr (R.A) once asked
Rasulallah (s.a.w) what was the best thing to be treasured, and
he (s.a.w) replied: "the tongue in remembrance of Allah, the
heart filled with thanks to Allah, and a pious wife who helps in
virtuous deeds".
Look at how valuable such a woman is in the sight of Allah! How can a man live unhappily with such a person.

My wife of 32 years is part of my world and we revolve in our own orbit together, our ship is built on trust, faith in each other and communication. We didn't follow a Manuel provided by one of the many opiates that compete for the minds of human beings, this one included.

What makes a successful marriage? That is simple. Respect for one another. Knowing your husband will take care of the family. Equally being responsible for what happens in the relationship. Refraining for extramarital affairs. Respect for parents. More Importantly faith in Allah(swt). Islam teaches us all these things.
Terry G(above) maybe that was your husband and that's why you claim to be an exmulismah, however he was an oddity in Islam.
Red Dragon, the women is speaking of jesus as if he is son of god. We all need only have faith in Allah(swt)

Once again, thank you for a wonderful post! And absolutely agree... as I am currently engaged to the most wonderful Muslimah and we hope to strive hard in the cause of Allah (God). And she is a huge blessing, and it will be great having her stand beside me, as my equal, to strive in this world.
I would agree with the posters statement, Jesus as the head of the family would be a big plus... so when he returns and decides to take a wife I pray that some lucky, pious Muslimah will be able to marry him :-)

i remember reading that a wife is soo important that if she was to be miserable and then in turn upset her husband because she was miserable his job performance would also suffer...so its really important for him to make her happy, just as it is important for a wife to make her husband happy.
