I know age shouldn't affect my feelings for her, but 10 years on me really makes me nervous. I'm 22. I guess I feel like I should act more mature or be more intellectual around her now. I totally thought she was my age too. Now I'm creating all this performance pressure for myself because I don't know how to act around her anymore. Should I go for it and ask her out? Or is 10 years too big a difference at this point in my life? I felt so confident before I found out her age, but now I feel really inexperienced compared to her! I'm not just talking about dating, but overall life experience.

Just ask her if she has ever considered dating a younger guy. If she says yes, you are in!! If she says no, she probably feels too mature for a younger guy. Settle for just being her friend. Things may change later.
Don't lose your confidence! Just because she is older, does not mean that she isn't aware of what it is like to be your age--remember she was your age one time. Usually women get nicer as they mature!

I honestly think that if both people are of legal age..then age should not matter at all. My mother in-law is 12 years younger than my father in-law and have been happily married for 27 years. Just try not to think about the age difference when you are with her. Don't try to act like someone your not. Just be yourself, and go for it, ask her out. You never know what will happen. She might have experience but does she have experience in knowing you? No. You never know you both might experience the best time ever. Your an adult so is she. Relax. Don't get yourself all worked up. Let the real you shine through. You might realize you have a lot more in common than you think. So get to know her and have fun. Best wishes!

Go for it ! For sure ask her out...I dated a guy 10 years younger than myself and we had a BLAST !!! Even if she shoots you down which I doubt she"ll do,you will have paid her the best compliment ever and she will always be your friend.Also if she does accept your invite to go out and you do get past first base I GUARANTEE you will never have a more memorable "life experience" SMILE !! if she was not labeled by her age,would you go with her,? because if you liked her before and that's the only reason your not going to stop then you really did not like her, and who's to say you cant teach her anything
