It means: Have cake in your hand. Ok. Now, you eat it. Good. Now where is the cake? Its gone.
If you would not have eaten the cake it would have still been with you. Right.
So, it means that if you eat cake you will not have it . Only if you dont eat the cake it will be there.
Understood. O.K. Once again i will tell you slowly. If you eeeeat the cakeeeee you have it will not beeee there. Only if you dont eeeeeat the cakeeee it will beeeee there.
Have fun.

If you eat your cake, it's gone. You can't have it, if you eat it.
Used as a saying. It means you have to make choices. Like a man with a wife and girlfriend. He has the cake - hi marriage. If he eats the girlfriend, the cake will disappear.

You can either keep your cake intact and look at it or you can eat it and it will be gone.
By the way the saying is actually "You can't have your cake and eat it too."

it's like you can't have two seperate things you want at the same time.
Like someone offers to buy you a car, but you want a car AND a house out of it. You can't have your car and your house too.

what is meant is that you cant have a good thing and use it up. like if you have a five thousand dollars saved up for a ten thousand dollar car, but you become impatiant and settle on a five thousand dollar car. or have a good girlfriend, and ignore her except when you want sex
