Visit the manufacturers website, like Ruger, Springfield, Kahr, Beretta, Para and many more. They can provide you with all the info you need, buying a gun will have to go through a licensed gundealer.
If you want to check all brands I suggest you buy a magazine on handguns and go through all the ads.
Good luck.

guns&ammo.com or just buy the magazine as thery are very informative with test results and statistics. If ya find someone on Ebay selling a handgun ya have to take delivery through a licensed gun dealer if it is out of state. Don't you have any gun stores in your communuty? They do have big Gun & Knife shows all over the country( Bill Goodman's is one of the best) where both dealers and private indiiduals ( they sell private collections only) They compete for your business and a lot of times you get your best prices from the Gun shows(best time to go is on Sun. afternoon when everyone is packing up) and right now it isn't hunting season

You got some great answers on sites, but the gun will have to be shipped to a Federal Firearms Licensed (FFL) dealer in your home state and you will have to go through the same process of background checks and state/local requirements as buying across the counter. Since you aren't looking for a specific gun you should just buy one across the counter.

It's not possible to purchase through a website with having a weapon shipped to an FFL dealer.

I've bought an AR Lower receiver online, but had it shipped to my FFL dealer so he could complete the 4473 Form.

Same holds true with pistols. You can look at Centerfiresystems, gunbroker but transactions need to be completed at the dealer in your town.

All of the previous answers were not all correct so I'm going to answer. AMS is, in fact, a legit airsoft retailers. BUT, they are not a top retailer. Their reviews are half and half. They are reliable only so often. I would suggest a more reputable retailer such as AirsoftGI and Evike.

www.gunbroker.com sells and auctions them off, but you have to have a gun dealer fax a signature to the person selling it, and the gun will be shipped to the closest gun dealer and you would have to pick it up. Or just go to a gun show. but there are very few websites you can buy guns online unless you are a dealer.
