If I understand your question correctly, you want to have a cell in column A reflect the same value as another cell in column G. For simplicity of the explanation, let's say the two cells are both in row 12. If you want cell A12 to reflect the same value as cell G12, type the following formula in cell A12:

=G12

It's that simple!

Now, if you want the leading zeros to go away, you need to change the cell format. This is done through the Format Cells menu function.
First, select the cell you want to edit.
Then go to the menu bar at the top of the page and select "Format".
Then select "Cells" from the Format menu. A small window will appear with a number of tabs across the top. The first tab, "Number", will have a list of cell types to choose from. If you select either "General", "Number", "Currency" or "Accounting", any of those should remove the leading zeros. I believe the only selection that retains leading zeros is "Text".

Play around with which cell format works best for your needs (depending on whether your data is financial, whether you need the $, whether you want a decimal point in there... etc.)

Good luck!
