Is it finally alright for us to say "enough is enough" without the racist tag being applied to us? Is the proper description now a perhaps an overly generous people that are finally worried about their country becoming something they don't want it to become? A German is free to voice his objection to things that make his country "less German" so is someone from Italy. They take intense pride in the fact that they are who they are and love the land they live in, UNCHANGED. Could it be that we have finally walked through the door and decided to close it behind us, allowing in only those who politely stand in line and knock? It's not about race. It's not really so much about terrorisim, either. It's about "Americanisim." Are we finally allowing ourselves the freedom of keeping our country "ours" in the form that WE choose it to be? I certainly hope so. Thank God for our immigrants that come here legally to become assimilated AMERICANS. We could not have built this nation without you.

Wow i must say how informitive you are. I think you put it well when said close the doors. People are starving right here in America, people are dieing of disease, people cant even afford health insurance. Is it right for me to pay a steeper tax to pay for free medical for people who do not even belong here yet a man as myself cant afford health insurance. So i have to pay for someone elses medical bills yet im denied by my own country a decent medical coverage? What a crock. you said the race card is always being pulled and your right but here is another thing that bothers me that is being said on a upteen amount of times that just drives me nuts. Jobs that americans dont want? I was told by a illegal after before i turned him in that i have the opurtunity to educate myself and that i shouldnt worry about such jobs "that americans dont want" this is the part that gets me.
When did our country say it was ok or matter of fact when did our citizens say it was ok to do away with middle class and when has it ever been ok to take our freedom away. Thats right our freedom because you really do not have the freedom to "pursue" any job you would like such as the old days now you have to be educated or fall behind. Labor jobs, farming and such. What happened to 10 to 11 dollar labor jobs in the midwest? Its know at about 8-9.

The bill was no good for the illegals anyway...the requirements were not so different than they are now to gain citizenship, only it would take longer and require a higher fee. Plus limit their family members to spouses and children.

We just need to deport the lazy ones who did not come here the right way, then the trucks bring in the people waiting patiently on the way back here.

We could let in all the skilled, healthy, non-criminals who are waiting in line for their turn because the line is there because of the illegals and the flow of people. The country can only let in a certain amount of people from every country per year. Just take back the illegals and let in the immigrants who want to come here the right way.

I think the numbers woke people up. It's one thing to have a few people picking fruit it's another to have 12,000,000 undocumented aliens.

You can always count on the racist card being pulled in an attempt to squash freedom of speech. It's so old now though, it's meaningless.

The attached link is a good one to a video about population and impacts. It's ALL about the numbers.

Well, angry Americans overwhelmed the Senate's call centers. That says a whole lot.

Democrats have made this an issue since they took it to the media in December of 2005. Angry Democrats took it to the media after they couldn't get enough votes to block a tough new Republican immigration bill. (Democrats politicians later changed the subject to Iraq after the massive Democrat sponsored immigration protests backfired in May '06. Democrats politicians were hoping to use the rallies as a way to take control of congress. However, they soon found out that Democrat voters and swing voters generally don't support amnesty.)

It will be the number one issue in the 2008 elections.

Well , i think "enough is enough". You'll see what cost will have this BILL on immigration. Already food price rise because of that bill was rejected , look here :
"U.S. Wheat Farmers Face Grim Harvests as Immigration Bill Dies "
http://news.yahoo.com/s/bloomberg/20070703/pl_bloomberg/ageqlzii_y_i_1

not to mention other services that will rise the prices because as i always say, U.S. can't survive without "cheap labor" and immigrants (legal or illegal). Those who came 2,4 years ago advance on social class and they will not do the many jobs and Americans either. Maybe this a worse example but ;name one born American who work on garbage truck or clean the public toilets ..etc . That's why you can't say this was a victory. Its a "victory" that will cost very highly Americans after the oil price. You have to think on all levels.

And 4 July remain only by the name. You may want to erase also what is written on Lady Liberty and think where do you come from before you glad that you're an American. Its a da**m shame that people like you call them self Americans who only hope is to stop immigrants (legal or illegal) to have the very same dreams that your fatter had before he came in America.

not exactly, the most of the people are argumenting without real facts or to investigate about the topic.the facts are that there was a panic in mass caused for a bunch of cowards attacking not illegal immigrants attacking humbles people and putting another people without knowledge to attack them, why not to attack the owner of the enterprises that are prefering to move outside of the usa(if more than money it is a clear fact of not love the usa)?the real terrorists have money to spend a lot :why not to catch all them?the immigrants, you and me are chess pieces for the politicians nothing else.in the history at the senate there were similar movements and it did not change anything more than the rich people have moved their business outside of the usa, check the economical history in the usa.who do you think were the winner?the usa citizens or the foreigner?

Not really a change, Americans have always been upset about this illegal immigrant crisis, but computers have given all of us middle class a bit more say so. The government would have slid this Amnesty by in a heartbeat were it not for computers.

My new motto:

"Keep your eyes on your government "

People that enter this country through illegal means, march while waving foreign flags - demanding their "rights". Neither understand this country nor are they attempting to learn.

Not enforcing borders and legal immigration policies will only lead to the demise of the Republic as we know it.

80% of the American voters recognize the facts. Only the President and some Senators seem to be the ignorant ones.
