Well that's so Simple
Do not restrict yourself to the topic of Anti Drug.
Suppose your Brother likes to collect stamp, Prepare a speech for him about philately and make it irresistable for him and give him a speach, For your MOM a Ditrics speech for your teenage sis Fashion and acessories, For your friend Bikes for your father a small and crisp speech about which is best place to Invest.
A good public speaker speaks in tune with the audience, He needs to speak the text and mannaer that will draw attention of his audience.
Not every one will hear the same speech. People differ and everyone have their own specific intrests.........find them and you have an audience and a Hell lot to practice
Hope it helps
Cheers!

They have a club that you can join here called the Toastmasters. It's just a group of all types of people that want practice speaking in front of large groups. I worked for a CPA that had a hard time giving an audit review to a large group. He joined Toastmasters and is now an excellent speaker. They just give you a topic and you jump up and talk about it. In our newspaper we have listings everyday of where and when meetings are for local organizations. Might check that out. Wanting to speak is on a subject you are passionate about is a good thing. What are your credentials? Unless you are some type of credentialed expert or have life experience, I really wouldn't want to hear your opinion and very few would pay. Why not contact some organization that deals with drug use and see if they can't sort of sponser you in some way. Or you may volunteer with them to give you life experience. Once you're in it, the opportunities to speak will come your way, your reputation as a speaker will grow and you're on your way.

An experienced public speaker and speaking consultant. I will offer some few tips here. But if you need a more hands on approach, you can get my contact from http://www.abrahamhouseintl.com
It is good that you have something passionate in your heart to talk about.
But there are certain credentials that you should have before you are ready for public speaking. This will make you look serious and professional to possible clients that will come your way.
For instance, you need:
1. create a speaking organization or use your name as your business name.
2. Get an efficient web site (I can build you one when you contact me )
3. You could register with speaking agencies
4. Contact possible prospects and offer a FREE speech. This will help to build your credibility as well as expereince

The first thing you need to do will be to get your speech organized.
It doesn't need to be written word for word, but you need to get the framework of how your speech will flow. Speech organization is important - the strength you have is your passion and knowledge of your anti-drug use topic.
The caution I have would be your passion could cause your speech to run into various directions and you could lose your audience in the process. Speech organization helps you keep your points organized and in focus.
Once you're done with that, pick someone close to you and present in front of them. Of course, get someone who cares enough to give you good feedback. If you don't have anyone like that, recommended you join the Toastmasters group near you and get their feedback.
I have attached some links that will give you more details if you want to explore speech organization and toastmasters. My very best wishes to you and hope you succeed!!

Public speaking can be unnerving. Before you embark on this, please consider the following:
audience: childern, teens, young, old, mix of all etc
dress: depends upon audience.
Keep the statements simple and to the point. Mix some humor. Maintain eye contact.
Ask your friends to be listening posts and practice the speech giving emphasis on important points.
Best of luck.

take a speech class. i took one and it was great. and remember when ur tryin to speak publicly u gotta tell em what ur gonna talk about, talk about it, then remind them what u spoke about. but find a way to make it interesting, be natural, and make urself clearly understood and relateable ( know ur audience)
