I believe you are speaking about the newest fibromyalgia drug on the market.....i've not heard any feedback on the medication yet because it is so new......but call your pharmacy and they will be happy to answer your question. Good luck.

Arthrotec is an anti-inflammatory medication that has been around for about 5 years or so now that is used to treat arthritis pain. It can also be used for fibro by some doctors. I know of someone that has taken the medication before and with good success but she also had other painkillers to help with her problems.

For my fibro I use Ponstel (another type of anti-inflammatory) when I need it in addition to a narcotic painkiller and a muscle relaxer called Skelaxin.

I can't take Arthrotec because it has the potential for causing seizures.

Arthrotec is designed to relieve the symptoms of arthritis in people who are also prone to ulcers. It contains diclofenac, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) for control of the inflammation, swelling, stiffness, and joint pain associated with rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. However, since NSAIDs can cause stomach ulcers in susceptible people, Arthrotec also contains misoprostol, a synthetic prostaglandin that serves to reduce the production of stomach acid, protect the stomach lining, and thus prevent ulcers.

In theory, fibromyalgia isn't inflammatory so anti-inflammatories shouldn't work.

You can take Arthrotec and a pain medication (Darvocet, Vicodin).

Lyrica was just approved for use in fibromyalgia. Arthrotec existed before Celebrex, Vioxx, Bextra so it's several years old.
FMS is a difficult syndrome to treat. I hope you can find relief.

arthrotec is voltaren with cytotec. the first is an antiinflammatory and the second supposly helps prevents ulcers. i am now on voltaren only as the other pill caused me menstrual type cramps. it is going to take a while for the effects to add up, but its a great non narcotic. you can take another pain pill with it, but not tylenol because they cancel each other out. also, gentle walking will help with the fibromyalgia too.goodluck ;)michele
