Salt will attract them. Get a salt block and set it out now. So when fall comes they are use to it cause come hunting season they know it wasn't there the other day. Deer are smart. Same with apples. If ya can find an apple tree, even a dead one, and starting now throw down a few apples every week also. Since they use to get apples there once ,seeing theem again won't be that unusual

Clover,
Acorns Crushed
Fresh earth (might be a new scrape)
But beware we are talking scents here, not the actual fruit/salt. Baiting deer is illegal in many states so check your state hunting laws before you put a saltlick or fruit in the woods where you hunt.

Salt blocks work well, they need it in their diet. They love the smell of food, if you are planting, plant crab apple trees, it is a pretty sturdy tree, and deer love apples for the sweet.

The perspiration from the pits of the artist formerly known as prince, before he became the symbol guy. His sweat mysteriously attracts doe and hoe alike. (Don't ask me how I know this.)
