I'm going to disagree with Jared's statement about one or the other, without exception.
Some parts of the Bible have EXTREMELY detailed accounts, while others only tell what needs to be told. The creation account in Genesis is one of the most vague parts of that whole book. With something so crucial to the understanding of self, one has to wonder why the details are simply "God said..." and the stuff suddenly existed. Did it come into existence with a poof; with a flash; with a pillar of smoke?
If any part of the Bible is open to interpretation, then the whole thing is. Go find a Christian who honestly believes that the 7-headed dragon in Revelation is a literal dragon as the text explains. Now go find a Christian who believes that the creation story is literal, as the text explains. Why believe one literally, and not the other?
"...one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day." 2nd Peter 3:8
HINT: Maybe the days aren't days, but represent long eras through which God facilitated evolution?

The skeletons found are extinct ape species, not human or 'missing link' remains.
If you want to follow up on lies, look up all the evolution hoaxes throughout history.
Piltdown Man and Peking Man are just a few, there are others. More recently, Pygmies, Aborigines, and ****** were considered sub-human or missing links.
Also, the Jews were cataloged as sub-human.
Modern day scientists will NEVER create life, they can only replicate it. Creating life from God's perspective is creating something from nothing.
We combine Amino Acids in a test tube and call it 'creating life'
You cannot believe in God and evolution, one totally negates the other. Why would God need evolution if he is God? Evolution cannot exist with the concept of God because it has to work on random chance.
You either believe God, or you don't.
You need to really READ The Bible, and not be so far out in left field.
The Bible has been proven to be accurate and reliable. Open any history book (ancient history), and open a Bible. Names, dates, places, all confirmed in history.
If you say the Bible is full of lies, then you negate Rome, Jerusalem, Egypt, King Darius, Jericho, The sea of Galilee, and thousands of other historical items mentioned in The Bible.

I've read Hinduism is the oldest religion and Ra may have been the first theist religion but china has discovered written characters that predate Mesopotamia the seat of Eden . And Confucius predates Christ by about 220 yrs and Buddha is documented 550 years prior to Christ . the Catholic church accepted evolution under pope John Paul the second without denying their beliefs . but I say live a good life and be kind and you should have most of the religions covered regardless of when and where they originated as they are not showing the greatest track record to date. A little character heart and common sense goes a long way in making the world a good place to live.

First, Christianity is no where near the oldest religion. Judaism is much older and there were many before that.
Second, Scientists are not close to creating life. They are close to "copying" life.
God is creation in all it's forms. The universe is in perfect balance as proven by scientists and theologists alike. I would say that most believe that the only constant in the universe is change. Is it too far than to have faith in the fact that God is the constant. God is change and perfect balance. Evolution is change and bringing all living things into balance based on laws of selection and survival of the most fit.

First let me clarify your question - the new testament was written after Jesus. The old testament was in place prior to the arrival of our savior; and many prophesies were fulfilled with his birth. Secondly, the bible is inerrant and inspired so when it says Jesus was without sin, he was without sin. And finally God did cleanse the earth on at least two occasions - the great flood and the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. I am not a student of apologetics but let me convey this message - all that happens or is created today has happened standing of the shoulders of our creator. Our Lord may not condone or be pleased with the path that modern civilization has taken but He has upheld his covenant that states He will no eradicate our race again for our sinful ways. Scientists are not 'gods' they are just taking what came before them and cavalierly engaging the next step. They are boldly and foolishly standing on the shoulders of a giant without regard or respect for the consequences of their actions. May God bless you today and all days that follow on your journey home.

Spiritually speaking, I believe in THE LORD GOD and not only believe but love THE LORD GOD. In terms of evolution like the evolution of men, we have to rely on the Prophets of old or even today because they have spiritual vision. It is because in human sense, they have a third eye so to speak. This 3rd eye is actually their sense of wonder. And they see wonderful creations all around them like the light, the planets, the sun and the universe. And the micro world say men living in the billionth- billionth- billionth of a second, yet we do not perceive this time occurring:before our very eyes or a billion, billlion of years which we dont have the opportunity of experience and perceive them as well. And these are only examples of the servants of GOD seeing them with their third eye or their sense of wonder. Thus, at this point in man's history, we have a book of wonder called the Bible and the christianity that it espouses. Additionally, Christianity is a belief of life beyond the grave; a life even unto eternity or eternal life. And THE LORD JESUS CHRIST is the WORD OF GOD about these divine plan for mankind. The LORD JESUS CHRIST is the MESSIAH who have redeemed mankind from eternal death or damnation. HE is mankind's savior. For witnesses other than Christians, the Prophet Mohammad in a vision was brought by Archangel Gabriel to heaven and saw THE LORD JESUS CHRIST standing in the right hand of GOD; while Mohammad remained with the audience in a heavenly assembly among the Prophets. St John the baptist was also a witness of THE LORD JESUS CHRIST when he declared HIM as THE LAMB OF GOD who takes away the sins of mankind. And another witness is the Prophet Isaiah 9:6 that states that the one who will be born of a virgin woman will be called MIGHTY GOD, WONDERFUL, COUNSELOR (HOLY SPIRIT), EVERLASTING FATHER and PRINCE OF PEACE. These are one of the many reasons that one should believe the Bible and Christianity as well. THANKS GOD; FEAR GOD; PRAISE GOD; GLORIFY GOD; HONOR GOD; LOVE GOD AND WORSHIP GOD. Of course you can. People who say that the bible is full and true...are wrong. The Bible is a choosen selection of gospels, ones that the church wanted you to read. Since it is incomplete you cannot grant it full credence.
Next comes Adam and Eve. If you have to take the Bible seriously then we would have died out thousands of years ago because be be getting mroe retarded and inbred with in generation.
Penn and Teller said it best, the Bible is a book of Faith.
Not to be taken literally. Use it as a guideline if you wish. As a "nonbeliever" I believe in Evolution. The creation Story in the bible is nice...but that is all it is...a story. Besides, who says God didnt give that nudge to the single celled organism that developed into all life we see today.

What scientists creating what where now?
There is no reason to not believe as possible a creator that implemented evolution as a mechanism for maintaining diversity and adaptability. I have a hard time following what you're talking about, but I'm pretty sure the Bible doesn't have so much factual truth to it.

Evolution is provable science. It does not require belief.
How you reconcile that with contradictory claims from the Bible is up to you. But I would say no, one negates the other.
And Christianity is far from the oldest religion. Greek gods, various Egyptian religions and Buddhism all greatly predate it and have extensive remaining written records.

The scientist are not close to creating life. They are cloning life from cells made by God. You really need to study the Holy Bible, because you haven't got a clue about much of any truths.
