The technology to find out whether there was and is life on other planets is slowly approaching. Scientists have constructed many models that suggest that Earth-like planets are more common than originally thought. Earth is a planet that has life, and we are so insignificant to the universe that the possibilities are literally close to infinite. You could say that by using the Earth as an example and the impossible vastness of the universe, that the chances of finding life on other planets are 100%. In any case, my question is how do you think religious communities will defend their beliefs WHEN life on other planets is finally proven?

WOW, many of you fools are completely in denial. I have been tracking the whole life on other planets quest for a long while now. The evidence is widely available. Thanks for quoting a religious text that conforms to the ideas of one author. I would love to see the authors sources. And for the lady who called me ignorant, you just answered my question by showing me that you will defend your faith to your worthless and insignificant end, which includes making up religion along the way, that's the worst form of ignorance HAHA. ONE THING is for sure. Life on other planets is can be proven and will be objective. Religion is completely subjective, that's why there is so many of them. And for all you morons that just want to be devil's advocate, go find other more useful things to do with your time than pollute my post with your irrelvant information that completely avoids the question. The question assumes there is life on other planets. Please answer accordingly next time paczjj, thank you

First, you can't prove that God doesn't exist just by finding life on another planet.

Second, you make these claims about coming closer to finding life on other planets, but you don't quote any sources, so I'm inclined to think that you're either exaggerating or just making things up.

Third, from what I know, even with the vastness of the universe, the chances of life forming on a planet is incredibly small. Someone said that the chances of life forming on earth through random chance is around 1 in 10^60. A comparison said that this is like trying to find a marked grain of sand in the Sahara blindfolded three times. If you want to know where I read this, it was in "The Case for Faith" by Lee Strobel.

To create life, you need a planet with a perfect set of conditions to start, which is improbable to create. Even if it's created, everything still has to work out perfectly.

In my opinion, it takes more faith to believe completely in science than it does to believe in God.

Don't hold your breath. You may as well ask "What will scientists come up with when the end days are here?" There is as much proof your day will come as theirs - quit pretending.

UPDATE: And if either event happened, it still would prove nothing about God, other than the *shock* truth that the witness statements lacked veracity.

Maybe the same God created everything after all, including them. Maybe the same God provided salvation (assuming they have sinned) for them as He did for us. But actually I don't know and I'm not going to lay awake at night worrying about it.

I am Mormon and while I'm not sure of the exact source, we are taught that there are countless other worlds just like ours. Why wouldn't there be?
