What? You mean would I lie to a religious crusader who has a sword to my throat demanding I believe in god?

Sure I would. Then soon as he has his back turned I'd grab my gun. ;)

I can see no point in martyrdom. I don't believe in anything so I can't deny a belief but I'll happily fake a belief if necessary. What does it matter? There are no gods to get upset anyway.

No... not my life. I would deny what I believe (or don't believe, as they case may be) to save my son's life, but not my own. I will die for what I believe, but I wouldn't sacrifice my son for it.

Are you saying, "Would I die rather than say I believe in God if someone was going to kill me if I didn't." Hell yeah! Then once I got away I'd be like, "HAHA JUST KIDDING!" Dieing just to just not say that would be stupid. If it was something else, like protecting someone else from death or living myself, then I'd protect them. It's totally not the same thing.

If self defense is justifiable homicide I think it is clear to say their is justification for lying under the duress you speak of .
I've got enough integrity to balance the scales of morality and justice for the greater good.

Sure, I'd lie and say I'm something I'm not if it'll save my life. I'm not a moron, and I don't have some God to impress.

Of course I would. I don't care what someone else thinks I believe in, especially if they are threatening my life!
