Why, for those of you who believe, do you think woman was made from a rib? Why not the feet? Or part of the skull? Islam states that men and women are equal. Islamically, the men who are oppressing the women in the "islamic" countries have no right to do so, and will be sent straight to hell on Judgment Day for their mistreatment.

Woman was made from the side to be at the side. She was not made from the feet to be beneath him, not the head to be above him. She was made to stand at his side, and fully enjoy her life as he enjoys his.

What is your opinion on this? There is a very popular poem about this but I was unable to find it. If somebody has it, will you please post it here?

No,this is the final subject remember. The answerers who're asserting which you're able to have chosen a greater constructive subject remember, are incorrect. I chosen Hijab on loose will.My kin did no longer convince me nor many ladies human beings in my kin placed on hijab. I deeply studied Ahadith and got here to the tip that masking my head grow to be the final of all judgements. yet with it got here many human beings's hatred in the direction of me and a few variations than earlier. this is a topic shop in mind that must be promoted and eyes of the doomed could be opened. I see some lacks on your poem, such because of the fact the sentences and there are some drags in it,in case you communicate bearing directly to the poem quite often. yet anyhow, great imaginitive innovations and efforts. thank you for pointing out the subject remember

I don't think that it would do anything positive or negative when you'll come to know the reason why the only Rib was chosen... I agree with another answer that "it was surely the decision of Allah, not of the Adam (p.b.u.h.)".
It was not Adam's choice or capability to create anything living, because it is the capability of Allah only.

I suggest you to focus on the preachings which have been given to us by the prophets from Adam (p.b.u.h.) to Muhammad (p.b.u.h.) instead of the these kind of issues.

Hope that you'll take my answer positively!!!

Not from his head so she can try to dominate him, not from his feet so he can step on her. She is from the side, close to his heart and by his side that they can embrace in the relationship God ordained. Man and woman, married, as one flesh in a relationship never to be separated until death.
Moses wrote in 1450 BC through the Holy Spirit in the book of Genesis 2:22-24....And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.
23 And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.
24 Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.

i want to add that woman was created from a rib of man
to proof that woman and man was originality were created from one source
this means that women and men are equal
woman wasn`t created by mud like Adam
because man have to work with mud as farmer ,worker ,etc
but woman have to care after humanity as wife and mother

the prophet Mohamed (peace be upon him) said:
women are sisters of men

but the philosophy of Greece said that women are retarded than man by body and mind

Um, that's a myth. Men and women have the same number of ribs. It is elegantly said, though. But there is this whole thing, kinda crazy really. Uh what's it called? OH YEAH! Evolution.

Are you asking or are you telling?
If you are asking , my answer is :I believe : It's just a mith. Full stop.

When I read some of the answer which saying it's read in Christianity, sure it is in Islamic as well.

If in Cristianity there is OT and NT which N means since the Birth of Jesus, in Islam OT is including Jesus (including Bible.) NT start from Muhammad received his first verse.

For the one that quote the Qur'an and Hadeeth, he quotes the way he likes.
Iam so sad to see a christian ( which I believe he is), who suppose taught to be full of love, critizes muslims for being whatever, write with full hatred in his body. Why dont you meditate and try ZEN., instead of claim as a christian, son of God but loaded with evil. (Hate is evil's best friend).

Adam knew the names of everything. Sometimes he talked to the angels, but they were preoccupied with
worshiping Almighty Allah. Therefore, Adam felt lonely. One day he slept and when he awoke he found, near his
head, a woman gazing at his face with beautiful, tender eyes. Perhaps they had the following conversation:

Adam: You were not here before I slept.

She: Yes.

He: From what...?

She: I came out of you. Allah created me while you were asleep. Do you not desire to restore me to you while you are awake?

He: Why has Allah created you?

She: To be your solace.

He: Thanks to Allah I was feeling lonely.
The angels asked him her name. He replied: "Eve (Hawwa)." They asked: "Why did you call her Eve?" Adam
said: "Because she was created of me, and I am a living being." (The root of the name Hawwa" means "living things.")

Ibn Abbas and a group of the companions of the Prophet narrated that when Iblis was sent out of Paradise and Adam was accommodated therein, Adam was alone in Paradise and did not have a partner from whom he could get tranquillity. He slept for some time and when he woke up, he saw a woman whom Allah had created from his ribs. So he asked her: "Who are you?" She replied: "A woman." He asked: "Why have you been created?" She replied: "So that you could find tranquillity in me." The angels, trying to find out the extent of his knowledge, asked him: "What is her name, 0 Adam?" He replied: "Eve." They asked: "Why was she so named?" He replied: "Because he was created from something living."

Muhammad Ibn Ishaaq and Ibn 'Abbas related that Eve was created from the shortest left rib of Adam while he was sleeping, and after a while she was clothed with flesh. That is why Allah the Exalted said: 0 Mankind! Be dutiful to your Lord, Who created you from a single person (Adam) and from him (Adam) He created his wife (Eve), and from them both He created many men and women. Surah 4: 1

Allah also said: It is He Who has created you from a single person (Adam), and (then) He created from him his
wife (Eve), in order that he might enjoy the pleasure of living with her. Surah 7: 189

She was created from his rib
close to the man's heart to be loved by him,
under the man's arm to be protected by him,
and from his side to be his equal.
