What a great question for someone so young. In my opinion there is no real answer for your question. I don't think we are supposed to be able to understand what forever really means. We can only understand things to have a beginning and an end. I don't think we are capable of grasping that God always was and always will be. Trying to really understand that has always kind of given me goosebumps even when I was very young. I guess when you get older, you just kind of accept that there are somethings we will never get the answers to. I still have lots of questions no one has ever been able to answer. When you come down to it, no one really knows. They can tell you what they believe, but it's just their best guess. Some of the Bible can get pretty mean. I think the best you can do is try to be a good person, try to treat other people how you'd like to be treated, and show love wherever you can. Faith, hope and love are the true sign of God.

God is eternal, here before the universe. He is the Alpha and the Omega meaning He is the First and the Last. There was nothing before Him. He always existed. Hard to fathom but God has said this is what He is. My son is 11, God bless you and keep searching and asking really great questions. Here are a couple sites that you might like:

Good question. It's one thing to think of eternity as going from this point forward forever - but just sit and meditate and allow yourself to consider eternity as going from this point BACK forever. We had a beginning, we came into existence at conception and were knit together in our mothers' wombs. God has no beginning, no end, He always was and always will be. Remember, the wisdom of man is as foolishness to God - there are some things we will never understand that are child's play to our Creator.

That is the big question. The simple answer is, god does not exist. jesus was just a man.

How the universe began, and how life began, can be explained through several scientific theories. None of these theories include "god". If you think about it, you will realize that the bible is a set of fairy tales. Man made out of dirt, woman made out of man's ribs? A talking snake? Burning bushes that talk? god sending bears to kill children for making fun of a bald man? The bible is an obvious work of fiction.

"god" and religion are killing this planet. Get a good education, and reject the myth of "god". We'll all be better off for it.

Wow... only 11 yrs. old; you're a deep thinker, huh. All that the Bible says about that subject [to my knowledge] is that it was God who created the heavens and earth; the stars, the sun and moon and all that has life. Read the first few chapters of Genesis and then skip over to the book of Psalms.

In the Old Testament God revealed Himself by the name Jehovah or Yahweh, which means the Self Existing One or the Eternal One.

God is not a physical entity, and as so is not bound by physical restraints. We are physical and have a location, a dwelling, basically, God transcends this. God doesn't really have an exact location, and did not "end up" in the universe, as if he moved in.

You won't find the answers to that question in the Bible ... but I'll tell you what I 'believe' and that may help 'clear your mind' a bit.
God is not 'in' this Universe at all ... he 'created' this universe, but God 'lives' in his own Universe (Heaven) and he created this universe and us humans so he would have some 'company' in Heaven someday ... and that is why we are alive on Earth now ...
