Fornication is a term which refers to sexual intercourse between consenting unmarried partners.( 1Co 7:2 Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband. )
In the bible fornication is not only refer to sexual intercourse between a man and a woman but also, man to man and vice versa. (1Ti 1:10 for fornicators, for abusers of themselves with men, for menstealers, for liars, for false swearers, and if there be any other thing contrary to the sound doctrine; (ASV)
Another translation Of 1 Timothy 1:10(ALT) for sexual sinners, for participants in male-male sex, for slave dealers [or, kidnappers], for liars, for perjurers, and if anything else is in opposition to sound teaching,)
the word fornicators translated in (ALT) to sexual sinners. the best example of this kind of fornication is written in Jud 1:7 Just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities around them, in a similar manner to these [angels], having indulged in sexual sin and having gone after different flesh [fig., having engaged in homosexual sex], are exhibited [as] an example of suffering [the] divine justice of eternal fire.
In the bible the word fornication is not only talk about sexual intercourse but its denoted more on a false religion (Rev 14:8 And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. Rev 17:2 With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication. )

Adultery is happening when a married man/woman have an intimate relationship with another person. Mat 19:5 and said, "For this reason, a man will leave behind {his} father and mother and will be joined to [or, be united with] his wife. And they will be-the two-into one flesh [or, the two will become one flesh]? [Gen 2:24]
Mat 19:6 "With the result that they are no longer two, _but_ one flesh. Therefore, what God joined together, stop letting a person separate!"
Mat 19:7 They say to Him, "Why then did Moses command to 'give a scroll of divorce and to divorce her?'" [Deut 24:1,3]
Mat 19:8 He says to them, "Because of your* stubbornness Moses permitted you* to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it has not been this way.
Mat 19:9 "But I say to you*, whoever divorces his wife [but] not for sexual sin and marries another commits adultery, and the one having married the one having been divorced commits adultery."

Fornication is having sex outside of marriage between 2 unmarried people of the opposite sex. Adultery is a married person having sex with someone else other than their spouse. If the person that is having sex with them is not married, that person is fornicating and the married person is committing adultery.

Fornication is sex outside of marriage between 2 unmarried people. Adultery is, of course, sex with a person you aren't married to.

fornication is in refrence, usually, to any sexual intercourse, even with a spouse. adultery is sexual intercourse when you are not married to the person you do it with, especially if you're married to someone else.
