No few US citizens are happy to lose the war in Iraq. But a large percentage of US citizens feel that moron on Pennsylvania Avenue has already lost the war. No US citizen wants the US to be embarrassed but most want there to be a good reason before US soldiers are sacrificed.
There were no weapons of mass destruction (there is now), there was no Al Queda (there is now), and Iraq never challenged or threatened the US (they do now). Any one can see this was a money maker for Haliburton and the oil people.
People who let a political label control their thought pattern is dangerous and UN-American. Failure to objectively observe and criticize their politicians, regardless of political affiliation, are UN-American and foolish.
This administration has reached unheard of levels of corruption, deceit, and trouncing of civil rights. A politician is deceitful and corrupt by job description. Mr. Chenney especially set the bar very high for political corruption.
By the way I had been a registered republican voter for over 30 years. No more.

Liberals don't think we 'should' lose the war in Iraq (didn't we already win the war? "major combat operations are over" - remember "mission accomplished"?) Liberals think any chance of 'winning' the war (I'm assuming you're talking about winning the 'hearts and minds' of the Iraqis) was lost soon after the Iraqis realized we had NO strategy to deal with a post-war Iraq. There has been a complete and utter failure to manage this war at the highest levels of our Republican government bordering on incompetence. Tell us what the strategy for 'victory' is now? Is sending our troops up and down IED laden roads like sitting ducks a strategy? Torturing Iraqis? Funneling billions of dollars to US companies like Haliburton and Bechtel instead of starving Iraqis is a strategy? We can't win a war like this by using the military - it has to be a political solution. Otherwise - who the hell is the 'enemy'? the Sunnis? the Shias? Anyone with a gun? We're in the middle of a civil war - how do we win that? Which side are we on? Do we help Iran or Al-Qaeda? Listen, I'm Liberal and I don't like Radical Muslims anymore than you guys do, but all we're doing in Iraq is creating more terrorists, giving them a free training ground, and causing more people around the globe to hate us. Let's get our troops out and let them kill eachother. Why do conservatives want to see more US troops killed? It certainly isn't for our freedom. Do you guys like paying $3 a gallon and giving record profits to the oil companies? Don't blame Liberals for a botched war run by neo-conservatives.

The U.S. already won the war. Iraq's country just isn't stable. The Liberals believe that Iraq will never become stable again and want to fund social programs instead. I think they all suffer from ADD. England, India and Japan took centuries to stablise themselves to what they are now. In the meantime there was always some sort of internal strife.

That war was lost before any fighting even started. Don't believe me?
Let's remind ourselves what the objectives of that war were (source: your moron president):
1. Make the world (and specifically Middle East) a safer place.
2. Stop proliferation of WMDs
3. Curb expansion of terrorism.
Not only none of the objectives were accomplished (as predicted by the entire world), the war itself had exactly the opposite effect of every single one of them.
There are two ways to deal with a screw-up (depending on whether your IQ is less than 50 or not): a.Admit it and learn from your mistakes for next time. Or b.Go into denial, bend the truth and keep on doing the same idiotic thing.
Iraq, just like Vietnam, is only a battle in a larger scheme of things. Losing a battle does not mean losing a war. You retreat, lick wounds and fight smarter. Long term is all that matters.
Look at Vietnam now. The country is friendly to us, it's in the process of free market reforms. It never attacked us. What difference would it make NOW if we won that war? Or if we never fought it in the first place? Was it worth loosing 50,000 american lives? Was it worth losing a lot more to win that war at all costs?

I seriously think that the liberal vs. conservative label is really hogwash in my opinion as both right and left will have mixed views on the issue...not every liberal has the same views as another. I also think having the mixture of the parties is absolutely healthy for our nation to truly work...if we all thought the same would we really exist as a nation? Probably not because our FREEDOM to choose would be...well it would be nonexistant.
I typically vote democratic in elections, but I in no way think we should loose the war in Iraq AND furthermore, I DO support our troops and our military and our national defense.
However, I think we need to reavaluate how we portray ourselves in the global arena militarily. I don't have a solution to this as I think it should be a bipartisan thing. Not run on party lines.

Well this is how i see it. If the libs loose this war, then they can blame the repubs.
I think that looseing wars gives dems more leveage agaisnt repubs. To the person who said that war is based on lies. they should shut up becuase
1.) how do they know its lies.
2.) The evidence is there.
Dems think of a world as they want it to be,
Repubs think of a would and how to get it to where they want it to be.
So where a dem would say, wars can be stoped by paper and words,
A repub would say, i want there to be no war, i want there to be peace, words dont work, lets bring peace.
Some repubs have been good at wars, others havent and dems follow that same kind of thinking.

Yes. Just as all Republicans wanted to lose the war in Vietnam by not allowing Johnson to send troops into Laos and Thailand because of the communist threat there.
18 Dec 69 - Senator John Cooper (R-KY), after several attempts, succeeded in limiting US activities in Laos and Thailand when a bill including $23.2 Billion for Vietnam war activities prohibited introduction of US combat troops into Laos and Thailand
10 Feb 71 - Congressman Aiken (R-VT) recommended convening an Indochina conference to negotiate a settlement of the area's disputes
17 June 71 - Congressman Charles Whalen, Jr (R-Ohio) co-sponsored an "end the war" bill which was rejected by the House (158-255)
...it goes on.
Sound familiar?
God, you people are idiots trying to paint everything with such a broad brush.
Guess what, Einstein, everything the Republicans are guilty of the Democrats are guilty of too, just as everything the Democrats are guilty of the Republicans are too.
Stop drinking the Kool Aid!

It is very partisan thinking -
The war is going as it should
It is being sustained -
If it were to be won and then over How would the people making money - continue to make money ?
Are you sure it is the liberals who don't want to "win" ?
What other groups would lose if there was a difinitive win for the US ?

They don't think that...the problem is that a real solution in Iraq and the US is indexed to the ability of the Iraqi people to pull together and act civilized, which the world thinks a chance for success is fleeting at best. Bush should have had some foresight in planning...its like planning to win battles but not the war. Its Myopic and poor leadership...its like opening your mouth before thinking.
