Astral traveling means traveling within your "emotional" body which is a necessary step to evolving into higher realms. But you must realize the the astral realm is nothing more than the emotional body of Earth and is still bound by the laws of duality (polarity).,,,....beyond the astral realm is the causal realm where memories and the book of life can be found and beyond that is the abstract mental where genius or madness can occur. What we should really strive for is the Soul realm where all that is dual becomes one, where thought ceases to exist and "being" becomes everything.

nope. IT ISNT.you want to enter Vaikuntha or Gauloka or Shiva lok ? Do bhakti on earth. When a complete devotee dies the messengers of God or God himself in the rupa that he loved come to take him away to his kingdom. Then you can do his bhakti while living close to him forever and travel the entire universe like Narada.

edit-through meditation etc these people acquire the power for astral travel. Those are higher planets and not the kingdom of God.Anyone through yoga and meditation can acquire this ability but to reach kingdom of God you dont need yoga sidhdhis but pure untainted bhakti alone.Shifting of rati from kaam to Ram is the answer. The kingdom of God once found within you will be accesible.Narayana allows no one except devotees to enter Vaikuntha.Yoga sidhdhi is not the qualification for admission to God's home. When did the gopis did astral travels?

Astral Travel is not necessary for entering the Kingdom of God.
Saints in the past did not perform it even though they were capable of such feats.

Astral Travel is absolutely unnecessary for entering the kingdom of God.

If by saying 'Entering the kingdom of God' you mean attaining Realisation of God, it is once again the same answer,NO.

There are several divine powers which a practitioner of Raja Yoga attains during the course of his evolution in spiritualism. Many of them are considered as mere diversions or pitfalls in his avoved path of realisation of God and therefore carefully avoided by them. At best one can treat them as bye products which one comes across,in the main path of God Realisation.

Astral Travel is one such divine power among the Ashta Siddhis, which are all capable of extraordinary feats by human standards.

But a kind Guru would normally instruct his disciple to ignore them and concentrate only in the realisation of God and not to be bogged down in such trivial exhibitions like Siddhis. They usually act as an impediment in the progress of one's real goal in spiritualism.

There were innumerable Saints in the past who had realised God and were always in Nir Vikalpa Samadhi, but they all shied away from such gimmicks in their spiritual path.
Avadoothas never pay any importance to such things as Astral Travel, in their lives.

i dont consider it possible with the physical body. I do not consider it as a pre requisite for entering the kingdom of god. Other virtues and an egoless, selfless state would lead better to the god's kingdom.

There are books which describe this but I want to tell to all of you that this can be dangerous. Do under the expert spiritual guru/Master.
When the soul goes out of the body then there is a thin thread connecting soul and the body.If this thread is broken then the connection is broken.
Better do more reading on this matter.

No. Not at all.

These are the extra powers that you get as by products of your journey towards the realisation of god or truth or almighty.

Even a wicked person can practice and get this power.

Example Ravana, All Asuras

And there is no use of this power.

This will deviate your mind from your goal.
