Well there are two options here: 1. You don't have wisdom teeth on your left side. It is becoming more common for people to be missing one, some, or all of their wisdom teeth. Since most mouths are too small and also because the extra teeth are just not necessary, our bodies have evolved to not having them anymore. The other option is that your wisdom teeth on your left side are impacted. This simply means they are still in the gum. They could be coming in at a slower pace than the others or they could be stuck and might never come in. You should see an oral surgeon (check the yellow pages or ask your dentist) to get x-rays. The doctor will tell you whether or not it is necessary to get the teeth removed (sometimes it is necessary because it can cause pain and damage to your other teeth). Good luck!

Genetics. While most people have wisdom teeth, some lucky people do not get 1, 2, 3 or all 4 of them. Maybe the wisdom tooth is impacted and has been prevented from erupting through your gums and into your mouth either by the tooth ahead of it or by some thick bone. The best way to see if you have developing or impacted wisdom teeth is to get X-rays. Then you will know for certain.

There is a possibility that they will grow in but an xray would tell if you have the buds in place
or not. When I had my wisdom teeth removed [18yrs] I only had them on one side. They didn't believe me so a panoramic xray was done then the doc. admitted I was correct. The gap you talk about isn't one that you need to worry about as the wisdom teeth had to to with our ancient ancestors and the food they ate having to grind and the teeth getting longer. Now days we don't eat like that and these teeth have become is a pain - that they will be is they are impacted.

Most peoples wisdom teeth do not grow in all at the same time so it is likely that they are just delayed a little bit. Some people do not even get wisdom teeth at all, so you could only have the one on the right side.

I am 35 yrs old and I had 2 wisdom teeth grown only half way. I had to get them pulled out!! They hurt like a mother***** ( I had to say that sorry ) And my denist told me that I have only 1 more. I never had 4! And the 3rd one to this day hasn't grown out!!! But everybody is different. Don't worry about it! If your doing fine w/ out them, your'll do fine in the long run. Has long has it doesn't shifts your other teeth or have any problems.

You might have a gap there forever, or it might just erupt later. I only had 3 wisdom teeth, and I am missing a few common teeth. Not missing as in they rotted out LOL, I just never had them. Braces closed the gap though. :-)

Because they grow in when they want. It might be that the other ones have not come up yet.

They also could be impacted (sideways) and they will not come above the gum.

Or you just might not have all of yours. Some might be missing.

Most likely they probably have not come in yet or are impacated.
