if i run about a mile or two a day and eat a healthy diet of fish and low fat meats.. no junk food and only water or milk to drink. whats the best way to do this without losing my muscle to look slimmer for august 20th?

Healthy diets have you losing 2 lbs a week. So 5-8 weeks. Unless you are very overweight--then it comes off quicker b/c any activity at all will help a 300 lb person lose weight. But you have plenty of time before August 20th.

Do some strength training too. If you are working out, doing cardio and some freeweights you aren't losing muscle. You only lose muscle when you starve yourself. If you are eating healthy, with lots of vegetables and doing cardio you will gain muscle.
