Hi S i r i. Although there was a temporary law in the Old Testament when God did allow divorce, God does not allow divorce today. In those days a man could divorce his wife on his slightest whim. There is one instance that He does allow divorce, but the believer is not allowed to remarry. In Mark 10:6-9 Christ tells us we are not to divorce:

“But from the beginning of the creation, God “made them male and female, For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh”; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.”

God did give a temporary law allowing divorce, so He could divorce national Israel. God was married to National Israel (as He declares in Jeremiah 3:14) and Israel was practicing spiritual adultery. This marriage would end when Christ went to the cross and the Vail and the temple was rent in the midst (Luke 23:45). In Deuteronomy 24:1 we read God’s word:

“When a man takes a wife and marries her, and it happens that she finds no favor in his eyes because he has found some uncleanness in her, and he writes her a certificate of divorce, puts it in her hand, and sends her out of his house…”

The phrase “some uncleanness” could mean, a bowel movement, a woman’s menstrual cycle, a dripping from the nose, or any bodily discharge was considered to ceremonially unclean. The Jews used this verse to help develop their practice of divorce for any reason: any time a woman was ceremonially unclean she could be divorced. The phrase “some uncleanness” could also be translated as a naked act. Meaning a wife committed adultery.

There is one case where divorce is still permissible. 1 Corinthians 7:14-15 explains: “For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband; otherwise your children would be unclean, but now they are holy. But if the unbeliever departs, let him depart; a brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases. But God has called us to peace.”

If a believer is married to an unbeliever and the unbeliever decides to get a divorce, the believer is to try to be reconciled to the unbelieving mate. If the unbeliever is insistent, then the believer must allow the unbelieving spouse to go. This does not allow the believer to remarry; the believer is still bound to the unbelieving spouse.

I still believe it. And the thing about it is people get married to fast, don't think it through, then when the newness wears off it is over in their hearts. Like at our church the Pastor will not marry a couple until they take a marriage class. So they know what is expected of the man and the woman as husband and wife....love honor trust and all the beautiful things marriage can be. There are many Scriptures on marriage.
I think too that just the idea of marriage to some is you get married and magicaly every thing is great...It is WORK! But as long as you are equally yoked then prayer respect each other..you have a good marriage.

I believe you'll love any individual perpetually, however being in love I wager is a different tale. I believe the being in love facet will get ancient after a whilst then LIFE units in. So a lot pressure at the present time and it places a burden on marriages. I believe the older new release valued marriage another way and occasions have been unique. Probably no web saved a few humans out of predicament lol.

All the unhappy married or divorced people
gave a thumbs down to the 'believers'
Holy Matrimony is a religious matter. It was to be joined before God. A lot of people don't understand that!

Really and truly, what's the big deal about what other couples go through? Concentrate on making your own marriage work and last. Statistics don't need to mean anything to you, but you can examine them for a little guidance.

Yes. I do. Because I have seen this happening. Couples happily married for life. N they have no problem with it.

Just take my parents. For both, it is their first marriage. N they r happy. They r still madly in love with each other.

So yes, it is possible. They r other examples I have seen too.

That's what the marriage vows say. The only reason God gives for divorce is adultery.

Yes. In my religion (Catholicism), a valid, sacramental, consummated marriage can only be dissolved by death.
