Hi there Cassieisbrill, I utterly and completely agree with you!!! You are so right!
In Britain we have a whole set of rules and customs about different parts of our lives. Due to the socially constructed Political Correctness, we attempt not to say or do anything that will cause offence in order to try and be a tolerant and accepting nation.
When we are abroad we try to have some respect for other people’s customs. So we expect those who come here as visitors or residents equally to respect our traditions and way of life. However, the majority of them do not. They flaunt, preach and force their belief systems and traditions whilst continuing to speak in their native language without making any attempts to learn ours. It is not expected that they abandon their customs etc, but it is with respect that we would want them to make an effort to honour our homeland by making an effort to integrate with us. Everyone but the British is ‘protected’ under a mask of Political Correctness. British people are insulted without consequence, and are restricted from practising their religion. Yet we are drowned in a diversity of cultures, religions and beliefs, and some can seem to be offensive and alien to us. British people’s experience of these in their own communities leads them to be suspicious of the un-known, antagonistic; and a few to be racist. Diversity does not work under these conditions. This is why I agreed with a High Court ruling to say no to a young woman’s demands to flout her school’s rules by insisting on wearing a hijab. We need a set of rules to be put into place that will enable Britain to hold on to its identity and traditions. As David Blunkett professed: ‘It is the acceptance of the rules that makes any society function. It holds people together and provides the glue for social cohesion. Anything goes leads to everything going. And what will go is our sense of belonging, our identity and our willingness to whole-heartedly welcome difference and diversity.’
TAKE NOTE MR BROWN!!!!!!!!!!

Cheap labour. The working class people of this country have been let down. The others wanted to make sure that there were enough workers to do the "menial" tasks, because education, education, education means that fewer people were left to do the really important necessary lower paid work.
Many people are now entering University, yes education is very important of course, but so to are other jobs i.e. refuse collectors, cleaners, nurses, road workers, plumbers etc. and many more important jobs that don't need a University education. Also, the "menial" important jobs would have had better wages (supply and demand) so hence the influx of immigrants to lower the wages and keep the economy booming for the well-off. Unfortunately, this country took anybody in, we were not selective enough although with recent events Doctors involved in terrorism and young men who had been through our Universities involved in terrorism, education doesn't necessarily mean decent people.

Not sure about the car, but i know their driving lesson's are free, as the government realises that they need to be able to drive to get work,(mainly Mini cabbing !!) Yes it's a shame our government don't give our own the same benefits, but hasn't that always been the case ? It is now time for the government to get tough on immigration and put a stop all the free loaders who only come here to take.. We should follow in the footsteps of other countries in Europe, and give them no more than they give their immigrants, or better still kick Europe into touch and renew our relationship with the New Commonwealth. i.e. Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and America, all these countries are more like us,and are our real friends.

Just like to answer Dave P question!! When we live in France,Spain, Italy the states we have to be self sufficient and unable to claim from the state. And i feel that is the point he is trying to get over.
My opinion, if you come too this country you have somewhere to live, you don't claim any type of health service until you have contributed at least 2 years national insurance and you can only have private dentists and no support from the goverment. How many would come then???
We are only an small ireland and we havent got the infrustructure to take care of all these people..

Hi,
firstly you are incorrect! they do NOT receive free cars, mobile phones etc. nor do they receive free food. Those immigrants who are 'approved' receive an amount of money equal to the state minimum which is the same amout paid to any 'jobseeker' etc.
Yes...I believe the government allows too many 'foreigners' in, but surely what is needed is a simple word change?
The word 'refugee' and the words 'asylum seeker' rarely suit the people approaching the British government for admission to Britain. A year or so ago there was daily news of hundreds, if not thousands, of 'refugees' pouring through the channel tunnel and into Britain...these were NOT 'refugees'...a refugee is somone who is forced to leave their own country, because of political repercussions or threat of execution, etc. and seeks to enter an adjacent country to save his life.
When these people leave their own country, and enter an adjacent country, they are no longer 'refugees'. The vast majority of these people come, not from war-torn countries, but from France (who usher them through and on into Britain)
Once they leave their 'home' country, they are no longer legally entitled to claim they are 'under threat of death' or the rest of the 'reasons' given. They were admitted into France (who doesn't want them any more than Britain does) and merely 'passed on' so the problem is out of their hands (the French) and thrust into the financial hands of Britain.
Simple answer? Deny ANY admission to Britain except those people who have permits to work, enough money to provide for themselves and their families and so on. Cruel? Heartless? Illegal? Immoral?
The USA, Canada, Australia and other countries already practice these restrictions on entry. So should Britain.
These people are rarely 'true' refugees. Where it can be shown that they are, then human decency allows they should be admitted and helped.
The examples you cited at the beginning of your question are NOT true indications of the real situation and stating such things will only cause more people to be prejudiced and to cause even more resentment than is already the case.
Let Britain (are you listening Mr. Brown?) prevent the problem from getting worse by denying entry rights and returning any illegal immigrant to the country they came from...usually France.
Cheers,
BobSpain

Where is your evidence for all these handouts?????
Asylum-seekrs get 31pounds a week, and yes they are housed until they get a decision on their claims - they're not allowed to work, so how do you think they should live. If they are accepted they get the same rights to benefits and employment as anyone else, no more.
Two mobile phones and a family car, I'm afraid that's NOT TRUE. For most people the asylum process is miserable.
If your worried about handouts, look at the number of natives living on benefits.

No, they don't get free cars, or free mobile phones, you gullible ****.
If they're here legally then they are eligible for jobseeker's allowance, which is the same tier of allowance as british nationals receive if they're out of work. There is no special luxury tier for inbound families.
Their kids are put in schools because we are, supposedly, a ******* civilised nation which educates children and treats the sick without expecting a medal for doing so.

Free mobile phones? are you for real or just really uneducated? I work for a Housing Association. Most of the tenants are young and white. Alot of them have never worked in their lifes and get free housing, all the tax benefits, etc and are not even grateful with what they get. They just expect, and give the Housing Association staff abuse. What is your educated view on them?

Refugees are normally due to human tragedies. We have to look it from a sympathetic angle. No body wants to leave his own soil unless there are compelling reasons. All civilised nations take care of refugees,it is a social responsiblity. The Govt's duty is to get them settled or repatriated as soon as normalcy is restored
