If you are walking through a store and someone goes by or you are stuck next to someone in line that REALLY stinks due to body odor. I don't understand how they cannot smell themselves when it is to the point that anyone next to them is covering their faces or trying not to gag. Is there a polite way to say something to them?

Please don't leave rude answers. I'm just trying to find out if there is a POLITE way to tell someone. If you seriously didn't know you stink, wouldn't you want to know?

There is no polite way,get away from them as soon as possible.Sooner or later someone rude will comment and they will get he idea,or they will just keep offending everyone,s noses because they don,t care about people,s opinions either way the ball is always in their court and you,ve been courteous.

That happend to me!! I was in Disney World ( Magic Kingdom) and we were waiting in line for Dumbo. There was this really fatter lady and a fatter little boy talking like in polish. Me and my mom were like staring at them! She smelled horrible. We got on the dumbo ride and when we got off we had to wait in a really smushed line and she was stuck right next to me I tried to move but I was stuck. I asked her what deoderent she was wearing and she said, Oh sweety I dont wear deoderent, I dont really think I have body odor. We were talking about like how you should and then her little boy kicked me. That day was half gross half funny!!!!

I guess the nicest way to say something is to start a coversation with them and ask do they smell anything and see what they say. If they say no then just let them know that it is an awful smell and then they will get the hint.

Why be polite? Stinking up the place isn't polite, and that's what they're doing. Just let them know.

Maybe they're just acclimated to their own stench. If you only have to be next to them temporarily, just try and get through. If you like work next to this person, that's a bit different...

No polite way to say it. Just move as fast as you can! It could be a medical prob?

by them some deodorant or perfume..
(then again there is nothing worse than a mix of both smells)
otherwise kindly ask them if they are aware that they smell..
or you could purchase some body wash

Get them one of those cute toiletries gift hampers. On the other hand it could be a medical problem.

Hand them a stick of deodorant or some soap and shampoo. Say "I guess you couldn't find these."
