It's not like I believe the BOM or anything. I read it like I read any other fiction. Just for fun:)

I'm also a Christian and read from the Book of Mormon at least every other day. It hasn't stopped or discouraged me from reading the Bible either.

It sounds to me like you are REALLY exploring the LDS religion. Dont be scared if you start to believe it....alot of people do. The BOM is a good read...but I would stick with the bible... (yes I am Mormon)

If you are a Christian, than it would not be that far fethed for you to believe in the Book of Mormon.

When Jesus said He had other sheep in His flock to tend to...the native americans were those other sheep. He came to the Americas and stuff...I'm not mormon, but I've thought that since I was little, that He came over here.

Good Lord!!! Do you actually believe that informing yourself in other issues is a sin?

Man you are stuck in the Dark Ages, thats for sure.
I really cant imagine any God to be against people seeing all views.

The Book of Mormon contains the writings of prophets of God. It gives prophesies of Christ's birth and His atonement. Why would that be a sin against Christianity when it speaks of Christ? It's ANOTHER testament of Jesus Christ (It says it on the front cover)

Why would it be a sin to read anything that testifies that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the Savior and Redeemer of the world?

I don't believe it's a sin...but it would not be something I would recommend to every believer. It's like watching certain shows on TV--although not "sinful" in and of themselves, they open up certain avenues of thought that can lead to poor thinking and eventually sinful thoughts. God calls us to only take in what is holy and pure...so read what you want...just be careful what you take in---the old saying is true: Garbage in, Garbage out.

Nope, certainly not a sin. But I'd encourage you to spend more time with the Bible than the book of Mormon, if you're a believer. Just makes sense, y'know? Plus it'd help highlight all the differences between the two religions.

No. Know what others believe so you can converse with them intelligently, distinguish between biblical and non-biblical authority and win a presentation of the gospel.
