To honestly believe a document survived that long written by humans. they would have to be without fault themselves. How could you NOT put your slant on things that you saw or heard?
How many times have we seen witnesses to an accident that saw one thing, but another saw it from a different angle?
To be perfect in writing is to have a perfect view. Non of us have that.. to pass it off as divinely inspired is a cop out.
I've heard preachers say they are divinely inspired, and proven wrong.
Yes it's wrong in parts. It has to be. Nothing on earth is perfect including a book.

I am Catholic, and am completly stumped by the bible. It is very biased towards women, it is contradictory, and a Catholic priest even said once that the stories of the old testament could be false and the are more like learning lessons. I would guess that humans made the mistakes, and those same humans (monks) invented beer.....so, they could have been completely drunk when writing. And, all the years of translations, in different languages, passed down over centuries..........yes, it is very confusing...But, I dont care, no matter what, I will never lose my faith!!

The Bible was passed down for centuries as part of an oral tradition before it was ever written. Then, it was translated numerous times into many languages. Of course, there were mistakes! Have you ever played the game "operator" when you were young? No, I don't believe the Bible as a whole.

I believe that over time the bible has become corrupted Its translation into other languages has been twice used for political purposes. First when Constantine translated it. The second was when James 1 had it translated. I believe there are truths in the bible that have escaped being edited out of the bible.

I believe that the Bible is a collection of Inspired writings from various times, places and sources. These books were selected and compiled by fallible human beings. There are other equally inspired writings that are not included in the Bible as we know it.

The Bible is divinely inspired but was written by men and that must be taken into account. It is like the differences in the four Gospels, they all say the same thing but from a different perspective and so it appears to be a slightly different story when really it is just how different people see the same event.

The Bible was written by men. Not a divine being. It is an interpretation of events. Through time and translation it has become what the church wants it to be.

My own take, naturally:
It's divinely inspired, but I'm sure there's a transcription error here or there. God's providence won't really let it become useless or corrupt, though, and its meaning is still intact.
What's a few misplaced names of a tent and a clerical error or two?

I believe the bible. It is factual and directly corresponds with historical evidence such as cities, kings etc. However, I also know that reading the Word of God, does change lives and I have seen the evidence of that.

Hmmph men VOTED on what should be in the bible. That to me means its far from "holy". You should read what they voted OUT of the bible. Yep you read an edited incomplete "holy book".
