Again like I said I hope you enjoy your freedom.
With irony I find that while your blatantly ignorant of the US history I must respect that people gave up their lives so that you can believe whatever you choose.
Your still a moron though...

This is not a theocracy, sweetie. Many of our Founding Fathers were NOT Christians and in fact had very unflattering things to say about organized religion, and they most certainly never intended for ANY religion to be endorsed by government. "In God We Trust" started during the Civil War (first seen on the 2-cent piece), not during their generation. "Under God" was an invention of this century and not original to the Pledge of Allegiance. Please get your facts straight, and understand that religion has NOTHING to do with patriotism. If you really understood what you were talking about, you'd be grateful that church and state are separate ... because that's ultimately what protects your own religious freedom.

Oh, and by the way ... judge not, lest ye be judged.

In the year 2007, the Fourth of July really isn't about God. It's now about celebrating our Country, our Country of Different Religions! Our Country of Different Peoples! It's about all of us, the Irish that were so hated years ago to all the immigrants of today that come here, to the United States, for a better life.

It really has NOTHING to do with God, but everything to do with FREEDOM.

If you can't celebrate the Fourth of July, OUR INDEPENDENCE DAY, maybe you ought to move out of the country. We don't need people like you.

You can celebrate by accepting at all Americans are Different. You can celebrating but realizing that it isn't 1776 anymore and yes, most American's are Christains, NOT ALL ARE. We can't even talk about God in school's anymore-remember SEPERATION OF CHURCH AND STATE.

Just celebrate and like the previous answer said, shut up.

Actually "one nation under god" was only added to the pledge of alliegience later. Most of our founding fathers were not christian. And people from all different religious faiths and no faiths at all came to this country and made it what it was. You should be celebrating the fact that you can say what you want on this board, instead of being fearful that the government will be knocking down your door and dragging you off to jail.

"No, I don't know that atheists should be considered as citizens, nor should they be considered patriots. This is one nation under God."
- Former President George H. W. Bush, (8/27/87)

"I once wanted to become an atheist but I gave up . . . they have no holidays."

Who says that being an atheist constitutes being un-patriotic? Again, another assumption! I can celebrate 4th of July. I just leave the word "God" out of it.

God was added to the currency and motto in the 20th C. Our founding fathers made it a point to sponsor NO religion by law, and were (generally) Deists, not Christian.

* Under which god? Is it Allah?
* Your currency was subverted by theists.
* Most founding fathers were deists. You have stated an untruth.
* You oppose religious freedom.
* People like you are the reason christians are feared and despised.

You would be surprised to find out that to many people do not even know why we celebrate Independence Day on the 4th of July. P.S. It has to do with Freedom.

"The Bible is not my book nor Christianity my profession. I could never give assent to the long, complicated statements of Christian dogma."
-- Abraham Lincoln

"The divinity of Jesus is made a convenient cover for absurdity."
-- John Adams

"Christianity is the most perverted system that ever shone on man."
-- Thomas Jefferson

And there aren't a whole lot of quotes from Washington, but he was most likely a Deist. Washington DID say this, however:
"If they be good workmen, they may be from Asia, Africa, or Europe; they may be Mohammedans, Jews, or Christians of any sect, or they may be Atheists."
