You had a class reunion coming up, but the same day you were to go your kids also had 3 make-up ballgames from being rained out. Do you go to the reunion and just drop the kids off for their games and leave them there, or do you say forget the reunion and go support your kids and their ball teams??
I chose to support my kids and their ballgames, and I got my ear chewed by my bf because I wasn't at the reunion...I really had no other choice. I didn't think it would be very responsible to just dump off the kids and leave! Even though they are both old enough 13 &15. I just hated to be that parent.

Ten years from now, those people at the reunion may not remember if you were there, but your kids will remember you being at their ball games. Tell your bf she/he should follow your example and put her family first. Good Luck!!

I dont know what I would choose, probably the kids because reunions are dumb. But what Id choose isnt really the point. You made an adult decision the best one you could and then you followed thru with it. Your boyfriend had no right to call you on the carpet for it. Sounds like he doesnt respect you and is a little self centered. You have kids and things are going to come up or happen that will sometimes change plans. If he cant adjust to that is he always going to take that out on you?

I'd say go support your kids. Only once in a life time you get to enjoy thoses memorys i might only be 16 but dont waste a min! watch ur kids grow up! support their ball games! and your boyfriend should suport you. Just because you wasnt at a reunion doesnt mean anything your children are more important than a reunion!

When it comes to your children you have to go with your gut and your heart. You absolutely did the right thing. They will remember the decision you made and be better parents themselves for it.

Your life is who is with you today and not some party. The truth is it really isn't any of your BF's business.

Good for you!
