My friend's little brother is having some odd symptoms. He has a huge lump underneath his ear (about the size of a golfball) and he has a 101 degree fever. He also feels light headed and dizzy.
Should we bring him in? What could possibly be wrong?

the parents should take him to the E.R. right away. He must be miserable. Very sick. Go!!!

The lump under his ear is probably a swollen gland (lymph node). He's fighting some sort of infection. The light headed and dizzy makes me think flu. For most people a fever of 101 isn't very high. He should be given tylenol and monitored. If the fever climbs any higher, starts showing other symptoms or hasn't broken by tomorrow call the doctor and see what they say.

Definitely bring him to emergency. The swelling could be a few things (allergic reaction, carbuncle, who knows what else), but the fever indicates that it may be an infection. Best not to guess at it and see a doctor asap.

Should see a doctor right away. It could be:
-mump (rare though coz vaccine should cover it)
-infection (it could be pus collection.The site is not good, it could eat through the bone and go to cause meningitis)
