Does anyone know of any good shampoo that hydrates the hair, and it really works? By the way, I have really thick hair, and it's a bit dry.

I've heard people talk wonders about so many shampoos, so I really want to know which one I should buy.

I would recommend Redken. They have a really great line of products and I use them in the salon all the time. What you can do is go to Redken.com and click on the link that says "your hair". It will ask you a series of questions and then based on your answers will tell you the best shampoo for your hair type. I particularly like All soft and Clear moisture. Be careful with All soft and Smooth down though they can tend to over moisturize if your hair doesn't need it. If you first buy one of those and they start to feel too "heavy" on your hair I would switch to Clear Moisture. It is a lot lighter. Good luck with your hair. Hope I have been helpful.

I have thick, wavy hair which has a tendency to be a bit dry, and I use the Davines Natural Tech shampoo and a Davines conditioner for color-treated hair. This mix is great. One thing to keep in mind with Davines is that the brand is European and the shampoos do not lather. I was told that this is actually healthier for hair and scalp as it is less likely to dry and strip the hair. My stylist (friend and trainer for the line) has kind of helped me learn to use it, and I love it. It took a while to get used to, but it's great because you really only wash your scalp, and rinsing it out will wash the rest of your hair.

Good luck!

well, if u hav curly hair then u should use CATWALK for culy hair it's a blue bottle. it's really good! i use it myself! i hav curly hair n b4 i ever found this "catwalk" my hair was just so dry n damaged, but now that all changed!

However, if u don't want 2 take ur chances on buying this shampoo (cuz it might b ateensy bit pricy) u should just put a dab of olive oil into ur shampoo, it works! or (ino this sounds disgusting) but try conditioning ur hair with mayonase once a week! it's great 4 dry hair n stuff!!! or just go onto seventeen.com n look in the tips part n find tips 4 dry n damaged hair!!!

Hope the info helped!!! x) xP

usually the pricier the shampoo the better it is.
i'd try Nexxus, i love the brand and they have all diff kinds-- ones for hydrating/moisturizing and so forth. i really like it and i've noticed my hair isn't as dry as it used to be. i have pretty thick hair too. Another great hair brand to try that I like is Redken. The have one that's a blue bottle called "Clear moisture" but I've tried the shampoo that is in the orange bottle called "All Soft". Good luck!

Try AVEDA Rosemary Mint.
There used to be a "seem-like" version of it called AURA, but AURA has changed its formula, so now the real stuff is available in some salons, but if you go asking around, they'll try to talk you into buying what they sell.
I just tried a new kind I like too, it's
a generic copy of "Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Oil shampoo" I bought at Sally Beauty supply
Smells great .
They both leave my hair soft and good smelling.

Use one that lathers up fast. Like Paul Mitchell Daily Shampoo. (Diluted baking soda is a good cleaner for hair and wigs) Rinse with water well. Also, very important, rinse with diluted vinegar solution to get all the soda or shampoo out and will make your hair shine. If your hair tangles, rinse with a little "finishing rinse" or "Paul Mitchell Conditioner" (small amount) and rinse that out too. Remember, rinsing is the most important part of cleaning (shampoo & rinse = clean hair).

Use a Horse Shampoo works great on our hair.

Redken All Soft is wonderful, I love it. My ends get really dry and this gives my hair ample amounts of moisture without overdoing it (thanks to the key ingredient - avocado oil). I alternate between the Redken and CHI transformation shampoo (which deposits silk proteins into the hair, making it healthier and stronger). They're both great.

The absolute best is the new brand called Organix. It has organic active ingredients and is sulfate free so it wont dry out your hair, plus...it smells awesome! Organix has different collections for different hair types which are all amazing! You can get Organix at Target, Albertsons, Kroger, Bed Bath & Beyond, Duane Reade, Safeway, etc. Its the best! You'll love it!!!

I suggest Dove Shampoo and Conditioner. It softens your hair and makes it shine. Leave the Conditioner on for about 3 minutes and then wash it off. Within days, your hair would be softer and shinier. It's also really easy to comb after you shower. =]
