Ok my mom has a lot of nightmares with demons and devils. In her dreams she says she is being followed by the devil and that the devil is on top of her (trying to rape her). I know that in the past her father messed around with some of that stuff and he was I'm not sure if possesed but i know he encountered the devil.My mother had to deal with it growing up and untill I would say her 30's.About 6 years before my grandfather died he had given himself into god. I have done some research on her types of dreams but I want to know if maybe some of the things she dreams about could be because of her past.even though she never got into the things with the devil could it be because of the things she had to face because of her father?

This is actually not an uncommon dream. I know quite a few people who are "dreaming" about the devil and spirits being on top of them to where they can't move. These dreams are derived from your thoughts, surrounding, and lifestyle. It is quite obvious that your mom has suffered a lot. She has to try her best to not dwell on it; this is nothing but the attack of the enemy messing with her mind. Whenever she gets another attack, tell her to say, "I am covered by the blood of Jesus." It has worked for my friends and colleagues. Before she goes to bed, have her put in a instrumental cd or anything peaceful..if she has a Bible, tell her to read Psalms 27 before she rests.

Happy birthday! Sorry you had a bad dream. It might have been sleep paralysis, which is where your brain is kind of stuck between being asleep and being awake. It often comes with pretty vivid, realistic nightmares. I'm especially suspicious at the late bedtime- is that normal for you? Interrupted sleep patterns have a lot to do with it. Anyway, don't worry about it, it's just a dream and it can't hurt you.

Being followed by devil = fear, insecure
Yes, it has a lot to do with her past. Due to insecurity, the devil in her dream became a symbol of fear. Because her family background shows that her father didn't give enough love or messed around a lot. That insecure feeling lurked into her mind. Devils or Demons became that images to threat her because "those unhappy incidents" mean bad memory and that translated into her dream or subconscious mind.

It could be, but there are lots of reason that demons and devils come into people's lives to torment them. And it may not have anything to do with her father's past. Usually the devil attacks people who are a "threat" to him and are coming into an aware of the truth concerning God. There may have been something about your grandfather's life before he died which impacted her. The devil is aware of what is going on in people's lives spiritually and he makes warfare against those who he feels may be getting close to knowing God. His attacks are designed to bring fear, worry, stress and to bring people into bondage and sin, to keep their minds off God.

it could be but then again it could be her own fight with satan her own battle she has to wage for her soul the raping part is like this a woman feels completely vulnerable if she is raped the thing that does it tears out all hope and happiness and that is what satan is trying to do rape her of a better life
