i have a very gentle, 70-lb. german shepherd mix that currently has some form of worms. our vet gave us some liquid medicine that looks milky and can't possibly taste good to our dog. we have tried everything to get him to drink the medicine in spoonfuls, but we're having a hard time. any suggestions?

maybe a small amount of gravy mixed with it.....or even milk..on a saucer.

Just mix it in the dogs food i do that and it has the exact same effect as if you were letting the dog drink it from a bottle its been proven its the same just mix it in regular dog food any questions feel free to email me at keraallen@yahoo.com

Get a little syringe, without the needle of course and squirt it towards her throat. (From the side) I had to do that with mine and she may be a tad mistrusting of you after having that foul tasting stuff squirted in but a bisquit or 2 later she will be fine.

this is going to sound weird, but my vet showed me how to do it. you take your left hand, put it into the upper portion of his ear pull back and the dog will automatically open his mouth then squirt the medicine into the side toward the back of his mouth! it doesn't hurt, but the first couple of times you might need someone to hold the dog so he can't walk backwards.

i like to take the blue bulb things that people use to clean out little kids noses/ or a turkey baster or a medicine plunger (obviously with no needle) hold their head back and plunge in QUICKLY it will be painless and easy

try getting an eye-dropper and putting the medicine in that, point it towards the back of his/her throat in between its gum, and its teeth, squirt it all out and hold her mouth closed, point her/his nose towards the ceiling, if you need to try gently running your hand down her/his throat to kind of ease the medicine down

Get a syringe (without needle) and squirt it as far back in his throat as possible quick. Then he cant spit it out and he has to swallow it.
