Forget about these churches where these people compete with each other to show them who is MORE filled with the spirit! These people suffer from low self esteem if they have to fake these prophesies! How sad when a person has to pretend to speak from GOD in order to be accepted!

GOD accepts everyone the same way! Through faith in the work that Jesus did on the cross in their behalf! The bible teaches us that whoever believes in Jesus, Will Be Saved!

Find yourself a church that teaches from the bible and try to stay away from the ones that make people have to demonstrate their faith through works of some kind! The bible clerely teaches that GOD is the one who detirmines who gets what gift and NOT EVERYONE gets the same gifts! It is based on GODS WILL! some will be an eye and some will be a foot but not all will be a hand! We are all part of the body and it is NOT up to us to try and be or do something that GOD has not set for us to do!

God even said that these gifts will pass away when that which is perfect has come! Even Paul said that without LOVE all these gifts are but a sounding gong or a tinkling bell! They are nothing without LOVE! How are you LOVING a person when you stand there and PRETEND to speak for GOD!

Find a different church! Stay away from those that put all their focus on the showy gifts and look for one that is teaching the bible, feeding the hungry, helping the poor, visiting the sick, and clothing the naked! These are the ones that are LOVING their neighbor!

God Bless

What you should realize is that where there are counterfeit gifts and signs and wonders there are also genuine ones because no one counterfeits something that isn't a replica of something that is valuable.

The evil one uses counterfeits to divide the body of Christ, to foment fear of true gifts, and to deceive people and lead them into cults. That doesn't mean that there are not followers of the Pentecostal sect who are truly saved and who have genuine gifts. It just means that in that sect Satan has an easier time of infiltrating and sabotaging the Kingdom work of Christ here on earth because in general they have a misplaced emphasis on the gifts of the Spirt when Jesus said that the Spirit would glorify Him. The church in Corinth had similar problems back in Paul's day.

1 Corinthians 14:26 What then, brothers? When you come together, each one has a hymn, a lesson, a revelation, a tongue, or an interpretation. Let all things be done for building up.

27 If any speak in a tongue, let there be only two or at most three, and each in turn, and let someone interpret. 28 But if there is no one to interpret, let each of them keep silent in church and speak to himself and to God. 29 Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others weigh what is said. 30 If a revelation is made to another sitting there, let the first be silent. 31 For you can all prophesy one by one, so that all may learn and all be encouraged, 32 and the spirits of prophets are subject to prophets. 33 For God is not a God of confusion but of peace.

1 John 4:1 Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.

Well, it is very sad that many so-called "pastors" use their "powers" to manage people at their will, and for profit!!!

Sometimes there is a true manifestation of the Holy Spirit, and usually it is made in an orderly way. If it is not this way, it is not the Holy Spirit. He leaves peace and joy, not the contrary.

Maybe you should go to other church where you feel more comfortable. There are more churches where the true word of God is taught. It is a quest for you, but at the end you will find light. Ask for guidance to the Holy Spirit and you will see...

It is a shame that those persons are using God's name to profit from that. And at the end, many people like you get confused and go away from God. Shame on them!!!

Not sure where you are going with this? I am not sure I would not jump right to labeling a preacher a prophet. That may be your mistake.
Of course there are all sorts of people involved in organized religion, and even if they are not "self serving", they want to do things in their way. And many use religion for their own ego, they would not say that, but they really are more interested in being the center of attention.

Did you mean that the person who was prophseying "stutters"?? If so, it is mean spirited to make fun of some one for a speech impediment that they can't help. Your question rambles so much that I don't know how to answer---but I was brought up in Pentecostal and I have seen/heard things that I felt were fake and things that were obviously genuine. Try not to make generalizations---take each experience and look at them individually. Blessings!

Do you mean "stutters"? Anyway, I've visited quite a few Pentecostal churches, and haven't seen this happen. I'm not Pentecostal, but I don't like cutting down other people's religious beliefs, and definitely not engaging in anything that even remotely borders upon blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. Let them do what they wish. If you don't like their church, then don't go to it.

What struck me about the AoG church.

Fanatics rolling on the floor speaking in gibberish while the pastor preached hate and lies from the pulpit.

I saw those hypocritical bigots for what they were as soon as I walked in the door.
