First of all using different herbs and fresh ingredients really helps in cutting out the salt. One product that I have used is NuSalt. It has a lot less sodium but gives that taste of salt. Also sea salt has less sodium and is healthier for you than table salt. There is also Mrs Dash but if you use it every day it gets old or at least it did for me. Hope this helps! :)

Mrs. Dash is a great product for those who can have no salt. But anything that raises the flavor of food will help one enjoy the food without missing the salt so much. More use of lemon juice, garlic, and herbs/spices will help.

If they can have a little salt, switch to sea salt. It has more salt flavor than regular salt but actually is lower in sodium.

Nothing can replace salt because your body needs it.Just have them lower their salt intake (avoid MSG) and some of the salt substitutes.I would be more concerned about stress and how your parents react to certain things.Have them work on how they react to certain stimuli because that will raise their BP(even at stroke levels) Help them work on those because that's a lot more important than mere table salt.

Morton's has a 50% potassium chloride/50% sodium chloride blend that has the same chemical reaction as regular salt. It comes in a shaker.

Use sea salt...it has less sodium and use it sparingly. Replace most of it with seasonings like onion or garlic powder.
