Okay, I have a really good friend that has three dogs in her small apartment which is bad in itself-- so the worst part would be that they are not trained-- the dogs use the bathroom everywhere and often they just leave it (yes i know this is disgusting)
my question would be how do you tactfully tell them that you do not want to visit anymore because their house smells like horrible dog pee and poo??
maybe some suggestions on how to get the overwhelming scent out-- i let them have my steam cleaner cause ahem*we didnt need it anymore* and it didnt even help-- its a rented house so they cant just replace everything and i actually think they do not smell it-- i mean its bad you can smell it when you get out of your car in their driveway

Wow, that's disgusting.. Tell her that I told you that it's a horrible risk to your health, being in an environment like that. The mess in itself is unhealthy, but it will attract rats and other disgusting things.. Maybe the board of health should hear about the place.. The landlord will not be impressed at all, perhaps he should find out.. The whole situation is bad, and it's animal abuse and neglect.. By not saying anything you are helping them get away with it..

Has plenty to do with the breed, a few breeds have oily dermis and double coats to insulate themselves, they'll have extra of an scent than a unmarried covered breed. The different fundamental reason of scent is what the puppy eats - feed a well dry with meat as the primary component, no corn meal fillers - in different phrases, no grocery store or Walmart junk - and your puppy will without doubt have much less scent. Third cause would be a yeast or fungus contamination, however you could most probably see that, however verify your puppy's ears to be definite. My five dachshunds don't have any "rainy puppy" scent in any respect, one among them, a chocolate/tan does have a slightly yeasty scent, however that's due to the fact that he has an oily coat and was inclined to fungus or yeast infections of his coat and ears. I switched him to Canidae Chicken and Rice and there are not more infections and a long way much less scent. We had a labrador/gsd combine for virtually 18 years, he had the oily lab undercoat and regularly smelled, used to be beautiful unhealthy in the summertime, so he needed to have widespread baths. Dachshunds handiest get bathed as soon as a month earlier than the brand new dose of Advantix, however they're very blank or even lick themselves now and then, like cats --- except of path, they uncover whatever splendidly lifeless and roll in it - however that is a complete one-of-a-kind subject.

I am a manager in an apartment building and deal with animal messes when people move out (terrible smells), they can get that smell out scrub the carpet with rug shampoo and white vinegar, the house will smell like vinegar for a couple days but it is better then poop and pee, it really works. And if you are all friends you should be able to tell them about the smell without them getting upset or hurt, the truth is the best way..........Dont forget vinegar will help.........

Wow, that sucks. If they are slobs, it's going to be hard for them to change. Next time they invite you over, you could just decline or suggest you meet up somewhere else. If they ask you point blank why you don't want to come over anymore, tell them that you love them, but the pee and poop smell is too much for you. Someone has to tell them, right? Hopefully, they'll be mortified enough to start cleaning up after their dogs.

haha! ew thats gross.
You know, when I was younger I had a friend like that. If her dog would pee on the couch, they wouldn't clean it... just flipped the cushion, over and over. And she had pretty much a pet store in her den. STINKY. Its hard w/ friends because you dont want to hurt them, but i am sure you are not the only one in her life that feels this way.
I would try confronting her, it may be the best thing that ever happend to her. If she gets mad at you it wont be forever...if you guys are good enough friends.

The only real way to solve their problem is to tear up the carpet, treat the floor (if it isn't rotted) and replace it. Then start potty training their pets.
I know this isn't the answer you were looking for, but it is the only sure way to rid the problem.

Wait a minute...your boyfriend told them that the smell of their house makes his head hurt and they didn't get it? If that didn't work, I don't think anything will.
