Do you eat a lot of sugar? If you do, you might try cutting back and replacing it with fruit. Too much refined sugar in your diet can lead to energy lows and mood swings late in the afternoon.

Just a thought.

There really is know way to say without knowing more. It could be a let down from a med you are already on, or from a carb or sugar crash. You could be dealing with a low blood sugar count. Have things in your home or work enviroment changed? Are you finally home and relaxing and worried about something that isn't really the focus but still on your mind (bills, money, family issues etc.) I am a girl and hate to bring it up but "you know" could it be getting close to that time. Boy do I hate to say that, my mom use to blame every thing on that! Dang it, I am my mom? Back to you. *******ON a Very Serious note----if this continues, you need to speak to a professional!!!!!!! PLEASE. It could be something so simple. We recently were VERY worried about a family member being terrribly depressed for weeks this went on. We finally got her to the dr. he spoke to her asked a few questions figured out she had been really worried a how she was going to pay for all the meds she was now taking, figured out how to switch stuff so now when the 1 pill she had cost over $100. is now $4. See simple. Ok I have gone on enough. Take care, be aware and don't wait to long.

I get really depressed just before the sun goes down. I usually only get like this when I've been outside a lot though. I feel extremely hopeless and just want to be alone. I really want to know why this happens.

There is something going on with your hormonal cycle or brain chemistry. (or both maybe)

Either way you should probably go see an M.D. to recommend whether you need to see an endocinologist (hormone doctor) or a psychiatrist.

Being depressed does not mean you are weak, it means the chemicals in your brain are not in the ratios or amounts they should be.

I love your question.Try being ok with feeling depressed. Allow yourself to feel sad, afraid, angry and know that this is a normal way to heal what ever is going on with you. It requires work but it is worth it, it really is. Then you can feel joy. Love your self warts and all. Your are worthy.

What do you do in the day? maybe at 5 pm you're alone? I think you do need some close friends or family to be with &/or talk to otherwise you will remain deppressed.

I have to say, some kids in my town have gotten cancer. Everyone says the side effects for it are kind of feeling sick. Not sure if this helps but get checked out by a docter.
