It really depends on if you are trying to simply sell the vehicle to get the most from it, or if you are trying to trade it in to a dealer to help in the purchase of a new/other vehicle.

Simple tips I would recommend would definitely be to CLEAN your vehicle to some extent. Sometimes a mechanically sound vehicle can be undervalued when the person looking at the vehicle may be afraid to enter the vehicle altogether.

Aside from that the value of your vehicle is in the eye of the beholder and you will most likely never get 2 appraisals that will be the exact same. For the most part, people will generally be in the same area in terms of price but it really depends on the needs of the person or dealer who is valuing the vehicle to get the maximum value.

Researching KBB or Edmunds online to get an idea on TRADE value when going to a dealer or RETAIL value when considering selling on your own can be helpful. Just be honest with yourself with the condition of the vehicle.

Hope this helps.

The first rule is dirt cost money.Make sure any car or truck you take to a dealer is clean.Clean and waxed and insides look good.A dealer looks for this and gives better money for a car that looks like the owner took good care of it.

Don't hand over the carkeys and if you do for appraisal purpose only and ASK FOR THEM BACK before negotiating
begins . same goes for your ownership and insurance.Do your homework as to the price. Never sign anything the same day , say i'll think about it and if they get pushy WALK OUTalways offer less than they ask.
