when i was researching them several years ago, I figured that the 6 cylinder ones got 15 miles per gallon. Might have changed since then. If they still sell the 4 cylinder ones, dont get it..not enough power. But you get better gas milage.

The newest Xterra is better than the 2004 and earlier version on gasoline. However you must know they are designed for off road they are heavier than the Toyota FB and have real Titan frame under the truck. Truck us the operative word here. Do Not expect economy car fuel mileage. And the window sticker mileage is what you could get under perfect conditions.

If you are looking at the new ones, I am unsure of the milleage of the new V8. I Previously had a 03 Super Charged V6 unit and sold it because of the poor milleage. I could only get 12-13 mpg, and it required premium fuel. IT was very expensive.
