David O McKay set the tone as the first clean-shaven mormon president, and so that became the prima facie style de rigueur. (Hit the wikipedia, kiddies)
Dallin Oakes has taken this to the extreme, if this man becomes the next prophet, all mormons will also be bald.

Well old Jo Smith could not grow a beard (heriditary) and the church thinks about judging people by the outside, insted of the inside of a person even tho the bible says that God judges a person by their heart, and that King David had the heart of God.
I was a punk rocker as a mormon and was looked down upon because they thought I was strung out on drugs. I figured bad attention was better then no attention at all.

Nope. I'm Mormon, and have a goatee. Generally, it's viewed as acceptable as long as it's kept neatly groomed (really just like any other aspect of your appearance).

Not that I've ever heard of or seen. Missionaries are the only ones who have a "dress code" for their facial hair. And they are supposed to be clean shaven.

Nope. But I really do like my hubby to have a clean shaven face. That's just me though. But then, he couldn't grow a beard to save his life, so....

i dont think so...my dad is a TBM and he has a beard. I think the missionaries arent allowed to have them though...supposed to make them look more clean cut i guess.
