Hi Everyone!!!
I am trying to choose what my confirmation name will be and I would like it to be an athlete since I am an athlete. The only one I could find though was Sebastion and that wouldn't work seeing I'm a girl. I also couldn't find any other feminine versions of Sevastion. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

I have heard of girls taking a male saint's name. If he is a saint that you admire, then why not? If you like, you can feminize it, Sebastina perhaps?

How about Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati? He was said to be very athletic and a mountain climber. I am sure a Google search will give you even more info than at the links I posted below.

Our Lady of Chevremont is the patron saint of sportsmen and women. (Belgian)

St. Rita is the patron saint of baseball, at least since the movie The Rookie came out. (If you haven't seen it, check it out. You'll understand the St. Rita connection.)

St. John Bosco used to play soccer with the boys.

Pope John Paul the Great was also very athletic in his younger days. I bet they would allow you to take his name for Confirmation. At least it doesn't hurt to ask.

God bless you as you receive the special graces of Confirmation.

Actually, I know several women who took Sebastian for their confirmation name. I just looked at my usual source, and was surprised to see that Sebastian is the only patron of athletes listed. Usually, there are several saints for each patronage. Note: there is an obscure saint named Sebastia (also called Sabbatia).

Go to http://www.americancatholic.org and start reading the saint of the day profiles and see if you can find one that appeals to you.
