yes, God gave us free will. it is not up to me to determine how other humans exercise their free will. i personally would not have an abortion, but i am aware that not all people are Christian and i cannot apply my religious beliefs to their rights.

Yes. Because fetus are NOT humans. I am a Christian and extremely liberal. And I definitely support a woman's right to chose to have an abortion. I really don't get why many Christians are so conservative. If you are actually Christan then you should be a caring and compassionate person. And therefore you cannot be a conservative. It just makes no sense how someone who claims to believe in God could value a life-to-be above the well being of families, individuals, and a person's heath. You would rather have women aborting their fetus' in uncontrolled conditions with a coat hangers than in carefully regulated medical situations? How is that Christian? Sorry for going into an off-topic rant but this question really got me thinking.

I will explain as best I can. A Christian has to stay true to God's word- and yes, people can make choices, however as a Christian that if that choice is against God, no, I personally cannot be pro-choice when it comes to abortion. I can be pro-choice for a lot of things- but not something that God says is wrong. I know that some Christians will say- "I would not personally ever choose abortion, however I cannot say it is not right for someone else". Saying that means it is ok for someone else to kill- and no it is not

A true Christian values life and the preservation of it. But a true Christian also recognizes that we are born with free will and that God gave us this gift to chose to love Him and not sin or to turn our back on Him and live in sin. Abortion is murder. Life begins at conception and that is the Christian view. But a Christian does not judge others because that is God's job. So I guess that is what a person has to determine for himself. I am pro life because that is what I believe is right. however if someone chooses to murder their baby then they have that right because it is the law of the land. All I can do is pray that the laws change and innocent babes won't be murdered anymore.

On the grounds of hypocrisy I say no. However you have those clowns presuming to be Pro-choice and pro capital punishment yet presumably attend church regularly. I guess they are "True Christians" in their minds.
Funny thing about humans they always try to find a loophole in every damn thing. Look at the 10 commandments they were set in stone by a God who knows his creations but I don't recall God making a disclaimer referencing another book "Bible" being one of them.
Yet any Christian will reference the Bible to make a case for Pro-choice and capital punishment.
Now here's a question for the "Christians" among us: in a case of God and his 10 Commandments vs Humans and a Bible Who do you think will win?

A person cannot be a good Christian and be "pro-choice." The "choice" involved is the so-called right to kill a developing human being.
The Bible clearly says that God knows and forms people from the beginning, for example Isaiah, Jeremiah and John the Baptist. In the case of John the Baptist, it is recorded that he "leapt in his mother's womb with joy."
The angel Gabriel announces that Mary is to conceive Jesus by the power of the Holy Spirit. He did not become who He was later but at the moment of his conception.
Following Christ clearly means respecting the God-given dignity of all human life beginning at conception.

I do not believe one can be a true Christian and pro-choice. No matter what anyone says about the state of the fetus, you are committing murder by having an abortion and the 6th Commandment in the Christian bible says "Thou Shalt not Kill." This obviously does not deter some individuals from doing that anyway.

no...it would be hypocritical otherwise.
This is such a sensative topic that needs to be treated properly. I think many christians on the pro choice side don't want to offend people. Some christians are pro choice because they made that choice earlier in life and have a hard time looking at themselves. However, they forget God's ability and willingness to forgive.

It could be considered a huge contradiction.
Life is suppose to be protected and the unborn is in that category. Giving a the woman that choice to do with her body as she sees fit denies the right of the unborn.
The argument for certain cases is moot as the hundreds of thousands of abortions do not fall under the exceptional case rule used to justify it.
If a woman has the right to her body, then why are drugs and other substance abusez, illegal?
It's her body.

No.
Because you cannot serve satan and God at the same time.
St. Paul says: "You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you cannot partake of the table of the Lord and the table of demons."
And about abortion being pro-choice, that can be seen to be completely false when it is realized that no one would knowingly and willingly choose that which will bring untold harm and misery on oneself - so when understood that way, abortion could never be a legitimate choice, no more than eating ground glass could be a legitimate choice.
The only way that a good woman would choose to kill her unborn off-spring is if she is if she was deceived by doctors or counsellors as to its true nature, telling her that it would be the best for her, when in fact it would do nothing but damage her physically, psychologically, and spiritually.
Here is an article by a renowned philosopher that tells of the inversion of values that has been engineered in our society to make something like abortion acceptable.
