KolOb is the star closest to where God is, but that He is on a planet is not made clear.
And we do believe that Heavenly Father has a corporeal body of flesh and bone. I always believed tat, even before I ever heard of the Mormons.

If God is our Father then of course he will have a physical manlike being. He isn't some creature! And he isn't living ON the star Kolob. It is just the closest one to him that he mentioned. We don't know exactly where he lives. Go ahead, research it yourself.

Section 130:8 of the Doctrine and Covenants makes this quite clear: "The place where God resides is a great Urim and Thummin." and continues "this earth, in its sanctified and immortal state," will be just such a "Urim and Thummim to the inhabitants who dwell thereon". Evidently it's near Kolob, a cyrstalized star that's really big, but cannot be detected yet with our crude mass spectrometers or gamma ray bursts.
To explain better, Joseph's inspired interpretation of Hor's Breathing Permit states (sort of) : "[It] is called in Egyptian Enish-go-on-dosh [not erroneously 'Ra' as stupid ungodly egyptologists claim]; this is one of the governing planets also, and is said by the Egyptians to be the Sun, and to borrow its light from Kolob through the medium of Kae-e-vanrash, which is the grand Key, or, in other words, the governing power, which governs fifteen other fixed planets or stars, as also Floeese or the Moon, the Earth and the Sun in their annual revolutions. This planet receives its power through the medium of Kli-flos-is-es, or Hah-ko-kau-beam, … receiving light from the revolutions of Kolob."
Thus is the wonderfully scientific aspect of mormondom, up to date right to the 19th century. I still can't figure this out.
Enoch also explains our earth is but one of a million different earths in god's creation, but also the most wicked. Makes you wonder if we weren't all that valiant after all.

We don't know if God is on a planet, or where He is. Kolob is the planet closest to where God resides. We do believe that God has a body of flesh and bone, just like Christ, and we have. That we will all have perfect, immortal bodies after the resurrection.

no, they believe God resides nearest to a star called Kolob. yes, they believe God is a physical manlike being. in fact, he was once a man on another planet that had its very own God. kinda hard to wrap your mind around, isn't it?

Yes that's pretty much what they believe.
They'll probably deny it though because the way you put it makes it sound like a really stupid thing to believe.
