Now, Yank do you think that Matthew didn't think the same thing? He was admitting his own guilt.
God did not say this, Matthew did, (or so we are to believe). The Bible is a great book and a divine one I will say, but it was written by man. It would be silly to think that you would not find many women beautiful and have some thoughts of them. Even men think other men are very attractive; yet I do not necessarily mean that in a sexual way.
Some people are just great looking. To me, there is nothing wrong with that. If there was, then you'd have to stay home, not go to the store, get gas or do anything at all but put a blindfold on.
I do not know what Matthew was thinking, but he was not speaking for anyone but himself, in my opinion. Thinking of something and acting upon it is clearly two different things. Ever thought that you wished harm on anyone, but didn't act on it? I have. I believe it is actions that speak louder than words. You can think of robbing a bank without doing it. Does that mean you are guilty of robbing a bank? I think not.
Just be a good guy and don't feel guilt for things you think or dream about. If you are a religious person, then you know that all you have to say is, "forgive me". If God did create us in his image, then perhaps he allows us such thoughts. It's your actions that define you, not your thoughts.

I'm not sure of what the question is but I'm sure everyone has experienced lust at one time or the other and adultery is sin as you said. The bible says that if break God's law in even one point, you are guilty of breaking them all. Sounds very scary and you wonder, than what can we do in order to be saved. That is why Jesus came into the world to die for our sins as we are not capable of keeping the law. By trusting in Jesus to be your Savior, you will find that the Holy Spirit will come into your life and will give you power to keep sin under control (you will still sin) and the most important thing is you are no longer going to be judged by the law (10 commandments) when you die but your sins will be covered by the acceptable sacrifice of Christ. He paid your penalty and you go into heaven under His covering. That is what the gospel is about - the good news.

one of the ten commandments says not to commit adultery. Seem pretty simple and straight foreward. Jesus, God in the flesh, explains His law even further to show us God's high standards. Who hasn't looked at someone of the opposite sex and lusted? I think the entire world is busted there.
We have all broken the law and there is only one payment that would satisfy justice for our sins.

The 10 Commandments came from the Ancient Egyptians when the Jews lived with them for over 400 years.

Show me one guy that hasn't and I'll put a $5.00 bill on the table in front of you. Everyone is born into sin until they accept their Lord Jesus Christ. The ten commandments should be followed out in today's courts. I guarantee prison
overcrowding will be a thing of the past.

you might want to read that again. Feel free to start from the first of the chapter. All it says is that you shouldnt do it because you created adultery in your heart. Read the other ones.
He is not talking in reference to the 10 commandments. Just about people.
READ IT IN CONTEXT. Dont take one verse.
It says you committed adultery to your heart. God is sad you did it. Its not a commandment to sin against yourself. He was giving advice and saying you shouldnt do it and you should feel badly about it.
Committed real adultery is a sin against Gods commandments, not a sin against yourself. We know the punishiment that God gives for that sin. God didnt give us any guidelines for sins we commit in our heart. Thats up to you on how you want to punish yourself.

If you believe in Jesus and do the will of God you are not under the 10 commandments. Jesus full filled them at the cross (Colossi ans 2: 14) If not then Jesus died in vain. The verse you quoted is when Jesus was still alive, he has not full filled the commandments when he was alive. He was preaching what Mosses brought from God (the old covenant). He is our new covenant, the sacrificial lamb that cleansed your sins with his blood past, present and future.
YOU ARE JUSTIFIED BY FAITH AND NOT OF YOUR WORKS!

You can find heaven and hell Right here on earth , and as far as it goes with adultery, I feel it's all natural urges and you shouldn't feel inferior because someone tells you so.
