Jesus kept it pretty simple. He didn't have a train of camels carrying gold and silver as a matter of fact..."

It's called tithes and the collection plate. I know u said if u do not pay tithes you know u do put something in the other 2-5 plates that come by after the tithers go up with the envelope.

All $$ support is voluntary whether or not it is a full tithe. Some can tithe and others are too poor. You finance what you need with faith and prayer and somehow it happens beautifully and even miraculously. With God all things are possible.

It's a good question. If the Bible mentions Christians having/following pastors, I've yet to come across it. I KNOW worshiping them is not Biblical. We Christians, as the church, are supposed to follow Jesus, loving and teaching each other as iron sharpening iron. Not really sure where the pastor idea came from, yet. Especially, pastors who must have a degree from an "accredited Bible college." It all seems a bit off to me.

i dont know where you get that info. They pass the plate for offerings of all kinds. in every church and church sponsored activities. i went to a dino concert and they passed the offering plate there too. I went to a political rally and they passed the plate there too.
Tithing is by voluntary persuasion in some churches, but its also a blessing that God will increase in others, as a law of tithing its madatory so you can increase your own personal gain.
i have to admit i dont pay tithing anymore, but if someone asks me for a helping hand I feel inclined to help. and when i did pay tithing it always seemed that I could pay my bills and i was usually happy about working for minimum wage jobs.

Christians tithe and give offerings. However, our churches usually don't keep tabs on it and take away our good standing if we aren't following the tithing command.
edit: there is usually a collection plate passed around, or a pew envelope in the pews, or at some churches you will see a clear plastic box to put offerings in. we don't have tithing meetings with church officials.

the commandment of Jesus Christ to the Christians is not tithe please read 2Cor. 9:7. Tithes is only for israelites particularly for the Levites.Pastors should work for there personal needs like what saint Paul did in his time.money given by the members of the church should be used for the propagation of the word of God.

Christian pastor don't lie how they are paid. Gordon Hinkey has house worth 2 million dollars were does he get the money to pay for his house? I do pay tithe were I can but we not chasten for not paying tithes like the Mormon church does. My uncle went to Church when I was staying at my grandma house. the church made him feel guilty for not paying his tithing. so he went home to write a check to give to the church.

How do you Mormons pay for your prophet's luxury condo? Oh well, what's a couple $million compared to the billions they bring in on tithing?

The Old English definition of the word "tithe" is "tenth". I believe that paid ministry is NOT the way to go. Christ wasn't paid. And isn't he supposed to be an example to us all? If a pastor/minister/preacher is paid, then he/she is doing it for profit and therefore should be paying taxes.
