Fasting is just a nicer way of saying anorexic. Don't fast, that wont get you anywhere. Just eat right and exercise.

I know it's really hard, believe me! I'm working on loseing 30-40 pounds. But just by fasting, you'll get really sick and it's really not healthy for your body.

If you fast, taking in nothing but water for 7 days, you will begin to lose weight. The first pounds you lose will be water, and cleansing of your colon from lack of food. You can expect to lose between 3 and 10 pounds doing this. It is not recommended that you try this without first consulting a doctor!
You must also realize that fasting causes the body to begin to cleanse itself, so there will be a host of issues you will want to understand. The trick is after you have had a fasting period, and your body has detoxified itself, you have to learn to eat correctly. If you don't think you are ready for, or your doctor does not recommend fasting, then you might want to consider juice or soup fasting which can be just as effective and healthier.
The real key to losing weight, however, is limiting your calories and increasing your exercise, and doing both consistently over a period of time. It takes time to get the results that you want, but they are generally longer lasting, have better health benefits, and lead to a fit and active lifestyle. Quick fixes may be shorter, but the effects do not last long either....and weight gain will occur again.

Fasting isn't the way to go. Calorie counting isn't even the way to go.

To lose weight try a low glycemic approach: Eat more small meals throughout the day instead of large meals. Stay from anything made from white sugar, white flower, white potatoes. Eat lots of vegetables, fruits, fish, meat, eggs (if you don't have elevated cholesterol levels) and nuts. Include flax seed and walnuts for omega 3 and 6 oils.

To get a complete understand of the Glycemic Index (GI) and what foods are low on the GI scale, get this book on the subject: http://www.marketamerica.com/pulse99/index.cfm?action=shopping.uoProduct&storeID=8&prodID=6420

honestly, a looooooooooooooooooooonnnng time.

Because if you starve, your body automatically stores all your fat (not digesting it) , for some energy.

BUT if you do diet and exercise the right way, it is possible to lose 50 pounds (25 kg) in just 4 months. THIS HAPPENED to most people who do it the right way. (5kg/10lbs in a month).

If you want to fast, then its not gonna work out in long run, you will lose hair, weak, and really ugly.

y not do it the right way, exercise, get into shape and tone up! you will have an amazing body that way.

remeber , Jessica Alba and Jessica Simpson do yoga and pilates.

Mary kate, fast, STARVE = anorexic nervosa..

If u r smart enough, you know which body is the sexiest!

DO IT THE RIGHT WAY!

Fasting is not the best way to lose weight but here's the info. NOTE: there are 450 grams per pound

Your body will start to use energy stores 15 hours after your last meal. The first few days about 100 grams of protein is broken down and about 15-20 grams a day of fat.

After the first few days you lost about 30 grams of protein a day and about 90 grams of fat. Long term fasting, one loses about 300 grams (.66 lbs) a day, 200 grams of fat and 100 grams of protein.

60 days is about as long as you can go without dieing if you drink plenty of water. Obviously the more active you are the more protein/fat is broken down.

No. Fasting in the worst way to try to lose weight.

Fasting causes your body to starve. So, the next time you eat, your body will store as much as possible as fat.

Instead, you should eat small portions in multiple times a day, mainly with healthy stuff like fruits, vegetable, nuts, and other good stuff. Don't do big meals - just small meals.

The secret of losing weight and KEEPING IT OFF is to change your way of eating. Eat smaller portions. Concentrate on foods that are high in fiber and low in fat. Fiber will fill you up and better satisfy your appetite. I eat a salad before each meal. It helps me to not want to overeat at suppertime.

The other thing that has really helped me is to find recipes that are lower in calories. Check out this link for some really good recipes. It is from a forum based on Weight Watchers.

The other trick is to keep active. The easiest way I've found to exercise daily is to walk more. I walk to work and back every day. It's a 23 minute walk. :)

Fasting can be an effective way to reduce body mass and detox the body. Vitamin supplements are essential to ensure proper metabolic activity though. You can go quite a while without food before your body begins to take irreversable damage. I reccomend you read this before you try though.
