Oh, Please... Superstitious 'faith' in the supernatural (*all* religions) is based on INDOCTRINATION (brainwashing).
( It sure ain't fact, logic, rational thinking and truth, huh?... )

Define brainwashed.
If it means someone has forced their beliefs into their heads so that they are like zombies, then good heavens no! It's just that they...er should I say, WE are very firm in our beliefs, and usually don't turn away from them. Of course there are exceptions as there are in all religions. We aren't brainwashed, but we do have different ideas than most religions, which make people think we're some kind of cult. Ha, ha! So not true. We ARE Christians. I know that Jesus Christ is my Saviour and that he died for me. I DO read the Bible just as much as I read the Book of Mormon. For a while I just believed this because my parents told me and I grew up with it.
You could call that brainwashing if you really wanted to.
BUT after a while I had to let go my parents' testimony and develop what I know to be true now. I doubted, and now I know! Really, if you want to know more, ask us! We shan't brainwash you :P

I don't know why they do. What happens is that there are people that think that if you don't share beliefs with them or you don't accept their beliefs, you are brainwashed. This also applies to when you strongly believe something... in this case our testimony about the church, people would say that we are brainwashed because of that. The Mormon church is true and we are not brainwashed, we just know which the truth is. I wouldn't call anyone brainwashed because that is mean. ^_^

Most Christian traditions are on some level brainwashed because they have lost their disciplic succession. They don't understand that the Bible has been changed altered and much omitted by King Constantine in 324 AD at teh council at Nicea. For the original New Testament Before King Constantine misconstrued it. Google gospelofthenazirenes.com The truth will set you Free.

I dont just think that about Mormons, I think that about all religious people. Most of them get taught from a very young age never to question the "truth", but this truth is not self evident, it is only the truth because Jesus, Muhammad, Joseph Smith or whatever his face said so.

The mormons demand more conformity to their dogma than say a Lutheran or Methodist, and that requires more repetitive indoctrination than you'd find elsewhere.
The good news is that this 'indoctrination' is mostly harmless inasmuch they do not build bombs or behead gentiles, but you can also count on the same answer to questions about the church. Most all religions with roots in the middle and near east require a belief in the implausible and fantastic.

The word "brainwashed" is overused by society.
The notion that some people can actually think for themselves is completely alien to these people. They think that all beliefs must be forced upon people.

Haven't you ever been to fast and testimony meeting? Everyone is a bit light headed from not eating and then everybody takes turns standing up and saying the same thing- "I know the church is true, blah, blah, blah..."
The hunger coupled with the repitition is classic brainwashing.
