I think i got an answer to the whole "Can God create something so big He can't pick it up?"

where if He can't create or pick it up then He's not perfect?

I'm also assuming we are talking about the Catholic God as well.

In which case when Jesus was on Earth He was subject to human limitation but was still considered the physical manifestation of 'God' and He could barely lift up His cross, we will use His own cross in the case as the object in this question.

However, once Heaven is established and Christ is sitting on the throne as God, He will have no boundaries so lifting up the cross prolly won't be an issue... let alone a mountain... He'll prolly be able to spin a world on His pinky if He wanted.

And if the 'riddle' means at THE SAME TIME... then it's possibly the dumbest thing i've ever heard and if that's the best you got to disprove God then, seriously... good luck.

Also, i wanna add, if God can pick up anything... there's no complaints, really. i wish i could

I like your thoughts about Jesus being a "manifestation" of God.

The answer to the question: Can God create a stone ... is the Big Bang! Our universe is an organized thing.

Peace and every blessing!

*Is Catholic*

The problem with the riddle is the assumption that the created order is something that is sitting there right alongside of God. Compared to God, the created order is a fragil as a bubble, and weighs as much as a dream.

In the created order, there is not a single property, from the color, size, thought, emotion, that was not designed and created by God.

The whole fundamental concept of "PICK UP" was created by God.

So when we ask if God could create something that he couldn't pick up, we are assuming that "pick up" is independent from God. It is not. "Pick Up" has been created by God. Could then God create "Pick Up" to be something that is independent from Him that even he would have to obey? No because logicaly if something can create something greater than, than that thing was never god in the first place. The fundamental basic understanding of god in any religion is that which there is no greater. So no God cannot make something greater than Himself.

However, God could create something that he would chose not to pick up.

BUT I did like what you had to write. It is very good to try to always tie things back to Christ. It is a fundamental insight that, in the Incarnation, the Son subjected Himself to the human condition...he became man so that he could bring man to God. In Christ, the hostility between man and God is resolved. He is the high priest, the bridge builder, between man and God.

God bless

what a bunch of drivel. Can God make a rock too heavy for him to lift? Yes. How? I don't know. Can man fly to the moon? yes. Can you design a ship to take me to the moon. but design it all by yourself, the whoel design, electrical, etc. you can't? so, just because someone can't fathom how something can be done does not mean it can't be done.

sorry about calling your writing drivel, but I was offended at your Catholic God remark.

God is perfect. Jesus was fully human an fully God. He did what He came to do in the earth. He conquered the death.

G-d created all the universes and galaxies AND is capable of sustaining them. Therefore, the answer is No, there is nothing that is too big for Him to handle.

My friend...The problem with the question itself is that it pre-supposes that "God" (i.e. a presumed seperate 'creator') is subject to limited human knowledge or experience. So long as one limits their imagination, in so doing do they limit themselves. Blessings...
