This will save you money - use baking soda and peroxide. Dip your toothbrush in peroxide, then in baking soda and brush away.... I had mine bleached about 8 years ago. They stayed really white for about a year, then faded. I can't remember how I came across the before mentioned technique, but haven't had to have them whitened since - I've been doing this for about three years now and my dentist even asks me if I just had them whitened,

Is this an "in office" bleaching or take home bleaching? Usually in office is a one time deal and you only need to repeat it when the teeth appear to darken. Take home is done gradually over a couple weeks and if you have gel at home to maintain the color you don't have to redo it. You may get better results doing in office followed by take home since you've never whitened before because your teeth may not respond as well to the gel.

Brushing with baking soda and peroxide has not been found to have any clinical effect. If you like the taste and feel of baking soda and peroxide toothpastes then use it, but it hasn't been shown to do anything good for your teeth.

I've never done it, but I've always heard it's very bad for your enamel on your teeth. and the more you do it, the more your enamel weakens. so definitely do some research.
